You could even say they were the shovel, but I did that! It takes A LOT of strength to back off the ledge and that is something that should never be pushed aside. KSE has also help me push through a lot of really dark times. Howard song AND songs that Jesse wrote/sang. Two of my favorite vocalists right there. But this band literally helped me through a few toxic relationships, helped through a chronic opiate addiction cycle where I was constantly in and out of both jail and treatment centers alike for about 9 or 10 years and even a suicide attempt..All because of their songs that I could not only just relate to and reflect on but also because their music made me not feel like I was always all alone.. So thank you Killswitch Engage for playing an extremely HUGE and important role in saving my fucking life. Hope to see you guys in concert one day! Much love from Seattle WA! 🤘😎

“The beauties of Jesse’s lyrics is you can probably interpret any song in three or four different ways like, hey did you write this song about this? No it’s actually about that. You could interpret it that way. I think it’s kind of what makes him such a clever lyricist. - Joel “I always believed in his lyrics, I’ve always loved his lyrics, I’d rather call him poet than a lyricist. - Mike The more you get to know him the more I kind of understand where he’s coming from with his lyrics. - Justin Shows how great Jesse is.

Killswitch is a very fortunate band for having two of the best Metal singers of the last few decades. Howard has more technique and kind of an operatic voice and also his screams are very unique, the best voice in Metalcore imo. Jesse despite not having much technique, has more of a raw and punky feel and is more passionate about what he sings about, and his lyrics are some of the best in Metalcore. Howard and Jesse are very different singers but they both are perfect for the band.
