@visible to all users the more time you spend labeling is time you're depriving yourself off enjoying. If you like it, it "rocks" Hell... if somebody really enjoys classical music then to them, classical music rocks because it's a figure of speech.
@jesseandrews2303
@jesseandrews2303 3 жыл бұрын
@visible to all users It wasn't a literal comment. But thank you for your detailed reply. My original comment wasn't one that needed an analysis but you've been more than generous. End of the day, nobody in the KZbin comment section can ever tell anyone how to be or what to do, they are simply off riff comments. Everything you said is indeed factual. I just wouldn't involve myself in an argument over metal or rock genre because they have the potential to box them into having minimal sounds to the point that if a new album sounds nothing like their pervious, they are often or sometimes bashed for "selling out" or whatever. If a band releases a less heavy or more heavier album than the last, doesn't that reflect where they're at in their heads and in life? So long as they feel what they're performing and is real to them, that means more to me as a fan than wondering why "they've changed" Funeral For A Friend albums were all different. They ranged from screaming to mellow ballads and everything in between. I wouldn't even know how anybody could "label" that band through their albums. I appreciate Charlie Simpson. Before Fightstar I was never a Busted fan and I still aren't. But I've been a fan of Fightstar since Palahnuik's laughter played on Skuzz and still listen to Fightstar. No band would ever change music style to that degree but a singer can and does with 2 separate bands. Corey to a lesser extent between Stone Sour & Skipknot. Alterbridge & Creed band with each name's respected lead singer. Metal Core, Death Core, Andrea Corr 😆 Punk hasn't been Punk since it sold albums because the Core of Punk is not contributing to the economy. "Emo"? Well that's just short for emotional. Isn't that every band you and I listen to? "If its real, you'll feel it" - Kid Kash

YES! Howard has the most EPIC voice, and sorry/not sorry, I prefer him over Jesse. No disrespect to Jesse, but I love Harold's voice SO much more. It's a shame he had to step back, but I respect that he did. Depression and anxiety are nothing to mess with, and he came close to suicide in 2009. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that this is a brother singing! STRONGLY suggest "My Curse" next!

One of my favorite bands!!! I've seen them live probably 15 times are more, they are dope as hell! Please do more of their songs, you should check out the song In Due Time, the vocalist is the original lead singer Jesse Leach. He left the band after the album Alive Or Just Breathing due to depression while touring. That album got Killswitch a lot of recognition in the music industry. Howard Jones(brother 🙂) stepped in and also brought Justin Foley with him to play drums because Adam Dutkiewicz (backing vocals in video) wanted to play guitar. Howard propelled them into mainstream with his amazing vocal talent, he can scream, growl, and sing his ass off. After 3 albums with Killswitch, Howard left the band due to diabetes and depression while touring. You could tell that he wasn't into it during his last album with them. Killswitch was left without a lead singer, they actually had Phil Labonte from All That Remains step in for a while since they were good friends with them and Adam produced some of their records. Adam also produces all of the Killswitch albums if I'm not mistaken. Killswitch held tryouts for a singer and Jesse Leach auditioned and sounded better than his previous time in the band due to vocal training, he used to blowout his voice after doing shows when they were younger which affected their tour schedule. Killswitch has released 3 albums with Jesse and they are so awesome. Jesse writes his own lyrics and they are very emotional but usually convey a very positive message. Their is no bad blood between Howard and Jesse, they were on a track called Take This Oath together off of The End of Heartache album(Howard's first with KE), but the recordings for Jesse were done previously and not together with Howard. After listening to In Due Time you should checkout The Signal Fire by Killswitch. Howard and Jesse are both on that song and worked together creating it which allowed them to become really good friends. Fans were very touched seeing/hearing that song, watch it and you'll probably understand why 🙂. I had the pleasure of seeing them preform it live because Howard's current band Light The Torch toured with Killswitch Engage during the beginning of the Covid pandemic before everything got shut down. Ok, I'm done with the novel 😂 just some history of Killswitch, they are an awesome band and I do hope you check out more of them!!!

I'll never forget when I saw Killswitch live and they played this song to close the show. What a feeling it was. This was long after Howard had parted ways with the band, but Jesse's vocals have improved over the years and I love both of them anyway. Killswitch Engageis my favorite band. Whether you prefer Howard or Jesse, you really can't go wrong and for the record, Jesse performs this song along with others from the Howard era well live too. Not the same voice, but that's perfectly fine.

Early Killswitch tripped me out cause most of their songs are about love, heartache, etc etc... And I’ve been all about hip hop and R&B... Now, they sing about strength in yourself, heart and mind, all the above and man they come full circle... I love it

Has anyone ever had such a memorable drive because of music they downloaded before doing a long drive? I did a 13 hour solid drive and downloaded lots of new music I never heard. I gave Killswitch a listen and never heard a single song. Absolutely had a cracking drive listening to all their songs on full blast and experiencing all of their older stuff. My fav is "FOR YOU" and "BREAK THE SILENCE"
