Jesse on Vide Infra: "The idea for Vide Infra actually comes from Bob Marley. Bob Marley in general is still a judge influence on me but when I was writing the first record in 'Alive or Just Breathing', I was listening to a ton of Bob Marley, so I drew a lot of inspiration from his lyrics, and he dealt with racism and that’s always been a topic that’s been super sensitive for me because I grew up around a black community being a white person and vice versa. I’ve seen what racism can do, and the idea that we’re all bleeding red, if you cut us, we all bleed the same color. So that whole concept to me is what made me write that song about how we’re judging each other or having these superiority complexes based off the color of flesh or based off the fact of you’re a man or a women or you believe this one particular thing. That song is about leveling it all down and saying that nobody is better than anybody else. We all start at this level playing field and there so much to learn from each other. It’s a message that needs to be said over and over again. People try to say that y’know, racism doesn’t exist, sexism, all of these things exist, their going to continue to exist unfortunately cause it is the byproduct of us as humans and our egos and how we’re raised and how we feel. That song to me is just about pulling all those stereotypes aside and when you come down to it we all bleed red, we’re all the same inside, we come from the same family, the same species. So yeah, that’s pretty much looking deeper than the surface of the idea was who we are, our skin, but going below, underneath it." Stoke The Fire Ep. 10

I doubt they will the see this comment but ill say it anyways. I LOVED Howard because of his vocal style but I have to say, Jesse has impressed the hell out of me. I've seen them a couple times this year and he has really worked on his vocals. He sounds so good now. I was amazed at how good he sings a lot of the (Howard era) songs. His screaming has always been top notch, but this really shows how hard he is working. When Jesse hit the the vibrato parts of my last serenade, it stopped me dead in my tracks. Keep up the great work guys. Loving it!!!
