You should try Amaco Cirrus Flow and River Birch, both are gorgeous alone or layered!

Oh! I don't own either of those... Add to cart!

Please can you describe the dirty snow addition
@threelittlepotters21 күн бұрын
Dirty Snow is a flux glaze like Mayco light flux only a little different. It's one you mix. You can find it in John Britt's mid-range glaze book or online on glazy.org. I use it very sparingly, usually only on the top edge of something unless it's a bowl and there's room to catch the drips. It has a lot of titanium in it, so it generally adds white, or causes lighter in color runs. Here is a link for it: glazy.org/recipes/59413 and I always substitute Strontium carb for the Barium because of the toxicity of barium.

You managed to put a glaze over hansen 20x5?!?! I've not found a single glaze that can go over hansen for some reason! Always crawls! 😮
@threelittlepotters21 күн бұрын
I know, right?! It's the worst for layering. And just as an aside, I saw that article Hansen wrote on digital fire yesterday about how he hates all the layering of commercial glazes that goes on. Meanwhile, I'm literally working on finding commercial glazes that I can layer with his recipe. Too funny.

😂 Glad it's not just me! It was the first glaze I tried... and then oroceeded to try layering with it for ages! I had no idea that some glazes just don't play well with others! So had a rough start! I remember watching an earlier video of yours where you made a comment on it and it was sooo nice to hear it wasn't just me! If ever you fancy doing someayering videos using non commercial glazes I'd be all eyes and ears! 😊 Keep up the good work, I love your videos.

Fantastic as usual, Sarah. On your cordovan, birch, dirty snow combo, is it 2 x each in that order and all over? Thank you for taking the time to share your opening. I know you are crazy busy. When do you find time to do all that packaging? That's the part that slows me down.
@threelittlepotters21 күн бұрын
Yes, two coats of birch and then 2 of cordovan. It might look nicer with 3, but I just don't have that much time. The packaging is a killer! If I have more than 20 boxes to pack, I'll work on it from 11pm-12:30 am, and then again 10am-2:00pm. Photograph more work from 2-3 before I have to drive it over to the post office. It would be one thing if the boxes held like 1 item, but when you are trying to pack 7 to 12 Christmas trees in a box it takes forever. I am trying to keep up. I sort of want to stop... but Christmas trees are such a short window... so I am trying for one more week of crazy busy. I hope your own sales are going well!!

I don’t know how you can remember all these combos! Do you throw the ring dishes off the hump?
@threelittlepotters20 күн бұрын
It's definitely a fun memory game! Yes, I do throw them off the hump. I made a video about it, which probably has annoying music in it since it was one of my very first videos, but here's a link if you want to check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zpm2hIGtfZuXnJY

I keep meaning to ask about your gloves. I like them a lot-are they for rose pruning or hot kilns? Jessica
@threelittlepotters21 күн бұрын
Yes, they are rose pruning gloves and they work so good for the kiln! I need something flexible so I always pick the goatskin ones, they bend better around the fingers so I drop less pots. I got them on amazon, but I am sure gardening stores have them too.

Hi, I am ready to try your studio white glaze, could you also post your dirty snow recipe? Jessica
@threelittlepotters21 күн бұрын
Yay! I hope the studio white works well for you. The Dirty Snow recipe can be found here: glazy.org/recipes/59413 I substitute Strontium Carbonate for the barium in this recipe, just a direct 1:1 sub.
