Well done. With the hydrangea bowl, it’s gorgeous. Love the heart bowl, sooo pretty. You’ll have to share what the octopus ball is. The pattern is great. Love the blue noodle bowl cute idea with mini me bowl. Flower mug is sweet. Ugh shame about the bloat. I have about 10 bags of clay still to use from the same batch that Nat had bloat issues with but Keanes denied anything was wrong. Love the turtle mug. Great kiln unload Karen. 😍

Hi. Enjoying your channel. Just wondering how you managed to get advanced shelves to Australia?
@Bearheadpottery7 күн бұрын
@@gmax3925 thank you! Paul Good from Rohde Kilns brings them in. They are called silicon carbide shelves i think in Australia? They are fantastic. A tip tho, raised cookies even on these - if you dont and they run onto the shelves, the glaze will bubble sideways. Easy to remove from shelf, not so much from the pot as it goes up the side a little. Hard to grind.

Karen what is the glaze combo that you used on the pot before the dogs barked. The pot was pinkish on the inside.

That’s coyote’s sorcerer’s stone x 3 on the outside and coyote’s fairy rose x 3 on the inside. Colours matched beautifully!!!

Great kiln opening. Please can you tell me what cone/temp do you glaze fire to and also what cone/temp do you bisque fire to?? That brown clay you used on those 4 mugs is beautiful, what type may I ask, is it? Thanks for sharing

@@MeandmyfireflyEZCreations thanks for watching Evelyn! I fire to a cone 6 - i hadnt made up my cone packs in time for this fire but it definately hit a 6! And i bisque to an 04 😃 The clay is Keanes red earth. Beautiful to throw and love its final fired colour!

@@Bearheadpottery I've read on bags of some keanes clay, that bisque is 06. Being the mid red, mid black and mid white. So going to cone 04 doesn't affect how the glaze goes on/absorbs. I am a newbie to clay and am researching everything. ATM I'm reading up on absorption test and leaching. As I want to get things right from the very beginning. It's quite interesting what is actually required. Happy potting

@@MeandmyfireflyEZCreations i used to fire to 06, but the glaze i predominantly use prefers a bisque of 04 (amaco and mayco) I prefer to keep the glaze happy, although i think the difference in glaze absorption and effect is negligible. Just my opinion. You vitrify your pieces in the glaze firing - you learn which clays like what temp and its not always what it says on the bag!😃 Tim See is a big fan of test bars and a good source of info too! Enjoy your potters journey.
