Challenging myself to start using those old bottles and buckets of glaze I’ve been ignoring 😊. What glazes are sitting at the back of your glaze cupboard?
Temmoku gold recipe
Note: lithium is crazy expensive. You may want to check out joe Thompson’s blog on alternative recipes without lithium. I’ll be testing that next when this batch runs out.

Very beautifull pieces. All of them. The big bowls turned out amazing. The snales are so cute. ❤ The gnomes are some eye catchers for sure.

On your corks, make the raw clay fit the big cork end. After shrinking, the smaller end fits great

Have a nice vacation! You and I learn so many useful tricks from Vaughan Smith. I have been chattering and using the celadons with Seaweed and they are so pretty. I really have to try my unopened Temmoko Gold glaze after seeing your bowls! Beautiful Lisa!

@@finklepottery704 That’s very sweet of you. You are very welcome. I am going to try the glaze combo you did on the bowls. I have the Temmoku from Amaco so I’ll test it first to see how it reacts. I don’t like that you won’t be doing any more kiln openings for a while but I’m so happy for you that you get to go on such an awesome vacation. I can tell you’re so excited. Have fun!!

I like your glaze combos and I just bought some gun metal green based on some of your previous videos! Besides the power turquoise which you show here, what are some of your favorite gun metal green combos with commercial glazes? Thanks.

Hi awesome. For a soft look layer it on top of white. It looks beautiful on a top band with vibrant colors below. I’ll usually use a band of another Color in the middle with some flux. Winter wood works well for the middle band. Colors on the bottom I’ve used: mayco eggplant, my studio raspberry, pikes purple. I’ve also done a really vibrant combo with gun metal green on top. A band of frosted lemon in the middle and coyote fairy rose on the bottom. So fun! It really is an awesome glaze that looks wonderful with so many colors. I definitely have to do more layering tests with it. Perhaps a future video!!

Beautiful .. 3:27 When you put several layers of glaze, do you use a brush or do you dip it? Thnx
@finklepottery704
@finklepottery704 9 ай бұрын
I do a mixture of brushing and dipping depending on the look I am going for. Usually, if I am using both, I would dip first, then brush on - but that is not a hard and fast rule.

Hi There, Are these stamps that you use on a rolled out piece of clay that you attach to your mugs? Thx.
@finklepottery704
@finklepottery704 11 ай бұрын
Yes they are! I roll it out on the thin side for stamps as I find if it’s too thick they can pull the mug out of round in the kiln.
