Actually Carries Voice Over was the soul of the show. Samantha was great. But so was Charlotte. The General Sentiment was, it was Triple Tie, with Miranda being the 4th favorite, for not being glamorous. So on the latsr seasons they gave Miranda a make over. It wss their witty linee that sell the show. Miranda may not be the prettiest but she was Ultra Sarcastic. Samantha is the best. But Carrie is the MAIN CHARACTER.

I completely and respectfully disagree. All four actresses carried the show but Carrie is the main character and the 'hub' of their friendships. Kim was incredible as Samantha, though.

I think this is what drove the wedge between them. There's no way SJP wasn't jealous of Kim. Samantha didn't just push societal boundaries, she made them look stupid and destroyed them, a very exciting role for an actor to play. Carrie was a wonderful character and went through everything we all go through in love, but she was not a society changer. Samantha was 30 years ahead of her time or more - every day I find things about dating and life that Samantha Jones was right about all along. SJP is very cute and extremely talented and I'm sure she was upset that attention was taken off her and put on Samantha. She was supposed to be the main character, but Samantha really stole the show.

@@lisabaughn I truly don't think SJP was jealous of anyone. She was the clear star of the show, and a producer, so she was raking in the money while also being the voice and face of the show. Samantha was an incredible character but Carrie carries the show (no pun intended! 🙂)

You totally should watch It! I've always said that it was so true to how I/we women feel and act in our own lives, just on a different level. Most of us aren't famous or wealthy, but we all have the same feelings about everything (mainly guys, lol). When we need help with anything, have relationship problems, just overwhelmed with anything, what do we do? We get with our besties! I've also thought that the show, Two and a Half Men was the closest show to how guys really are 😂. Both shows were/are great but learning how these ladies handled everyday life for them, will always be the best!

Samantha was nothing but a ripoff of Blanche from The Golden Girls. In season two of SATC Samantha says a line in one episode that was almost exact as one Blanche said also in its second season. No concidence. Samantha: "Men cheat for the same reason dogs lick their balls, because they can." Blanche: "Same reason a dog licks himself, Dorothy. Because he can."
