This is something that Simba would never do. Sacrifices his life so the human can live and survive. Really shows. Kimba is much more of a true and nobler King than Simba will ever be! This really shows the true reality of nature the circle of life isn't complete without the Circle of Death. RIP Kimba the best King the jungle ever had. 👑💛

Frankly, if you look at just the characters, this scene alone makes Leo (or Kimba) a much better lion than Simba. Simba was, after all, quite selfish as a cub and even as adult he preferred to stay in "Hakuna Matata" while his duty called him. To deny your duty is to deny yourself. And he always needed someone to help him out. Whereas Leo...well, should I say more really? This scene quite covers it, no?

That was part of Simba's character development, he started beeing selfish and avoiding problems but then he learn that he has to face his past because he can't run away from it forever because he has responsabilities and others depend on him, and that responsabilities are part of who he is too.
