I have the same exact gun. Just be careful with some hot bear 200 grain ammo. Those shells can get stuck and need to push each shell with a Philip screwdriver because it may mess up the extractor. The ammo was Grizzly hard cast flat nose. The primer was squished flat. For sure, this is not a bear gun. However, it's very fun gun with standard 158 grain ammo.

@@bullpup33 I love it! The 357 Magnum rounds make your hand numb with the power. Using 38 special rounds is fun too. Overall, it's a great gun as expected from Kimber. I also got a Covert II recently, and love that as well. But the revolver is my most trusted home defense weapon. Totally recommend.
@bullpup33 Жыл бұрын
So I purchased it and took it to the range. Sadly it's going back. It was shaving rounds and caught some shrapnel in my face a couple times. Called Kimber and they gave me an RMA. However, I can attest the .357 was stout, but not awful. Very shootable. Can't wait for Kimber to fix the timing issue and get it back. Nothing out my pocket since the store is shipping it. Fingers crossed 🤞.
@lchristian1696 Жыл бұрын
@@bullpup33 sorry to hear that! Glad they are making it right. Run some 38 Special rounds through it, too. Gives your hand a break from the 357 rounds. I have 3 Kimber's and love them (Custom II, Covert II and the 357). The Custom II, I had some issues with, too, and had to get it corrected (safety was messed up and when I used it, the slide would stick so I couldn't rack). The revolver is my go-to for home self defense compared to the semi-autos (.45 Covert II 3" barrel is smooth) because how straight forward it is to use - and the wife prefers it (prefers 38 special rounds). And one round would scare the crap out of anyone dumb enough to try to break into my house. Every-time I am at the range shooting the revolver with 357 rounds, someone is like "bro, what is that thing? A cannon?"

I really wish they made this in a 6" barrel. I have the 3" and it almost seems redundant to pick up the 4" when the only major benefit would be the sights. A 6" target revolver would make better use of the target style adjustable sights with it's better sight radius, and better velocities achieved by the longer barrel imo.

I own a 3” custom K6 and it’s sat in my vault far too long. This happens when you have hundreds of guns but only hundreds of rounds boycotting the price gouging from ammo manufacturers. The K6 is the second smoothest wheel gun I’ve ever shot in 37 years now. My Colt takes top honors for smoothest and best revolver. People stupidly say the 38 special is anemic and now the 357 magnum is being degraded. I can tell you in a 3” barrel the .357 K6 has a kick and will drop a horse in one shot. Disclaimer (horses are awesome, do NOT shoot any horses) or any living creature unless appropriate. Compare the Colt King Cobra with the K6. I have and it makes for an intriguing video from two top shelf guns.
