My EDC is the Ultra TLE II, for years now. I am a former deputy sheriff and have used this weapon for 8 or 9 years now without issues save and except for one....the finish has worn off in several spots. Holster wear. Anyway, I can live with that since it performs as intended flawlessly. I carried a Colt Defender for about a decade before the Kimber and still have it ...put away. It too, was a great gun that I trusted my life with every day.

After having bought a two tone Ultra 2 in 9mm 3 years ago. I really missed 45 acp and a couple of weeks ago I ordered a SS Ultra 2 and got it a week ago. I paid $799 for mine. But I wanted it in Stainless Steel. So far I have 100 rounds of FMJ and 20 rounds of 230gr Hollow point through it with no malfunction. Sort of surprising because of Kimbers history of an extended break in period. Although when I got it it had obviously been fired at the factory and it was filthy inside so they might have pre broken it in. LMAO. I now own 3 Kimbers. All are great guns, and we'll worth the money. I called Kimber about how dirty it was and to verify the Manufacturing date and they said 10/27/19. The Kimber Rep on the phone said they now ship their guns dirty to show they were test fired at the factory. He also said that they may discontinue the all Stainless version of the Ultra 2 and I may have got one of the last ones.

I just took my ultra carry ll to the range to start the initial break in period.(and all the kimbers need this).I had a couple failures to go into battery.put a little more oil on the barrel.and it went through the 100 rounds I intended to put through it flawlessly.i am very pleased so far.ill put another 3 or 4 hundred rounds through it before I'll carry it.it feels really good in the hand and was very accurate. I'm wanting to like this pistol.i think it will do just fine.

I own both the 9mm and 45acp ultra 2 models of this gun. The 9mm is a two tone, and the 45acp is all stainless. They are 2 of 4 pistols that I rotate for carry. They hide easily and are easy to carry OWB. I changed out the grips on the SS 45acp ultra to g10 VZ black and silver striped ones, looks much better than the Rosewood grips that came on it. Better purchase also when it's fired.

Iv'e had one of these for going on 15 years. I have put thousands of rounds through it and the only issue was a broken recoil spring assembly. It will shoot anything including my semi-wadcutter loads. And by the way I have a Les Baer as well. They are good guns!

Actually it’s a Schwartz safety system and not a Series 80 design. The Schwartz uses the beavertail to hit the foreign pin stop instead of the trigger so it doesn’t mess up the trigger pull like a Series 80 would. Enjoy in good health.
@wehrewulf2 жыл бұрын
The grip safety deactivated the firing pin block, not foreign pin stop. Beavertail refers to the shape, not the device. Get your shit right as well.

I Love Kimber 1911s! So much I’ve bought the Stainless ll , Ultra Carry ll, I sold those to buy my Kimber Pro Raptor ll in 45 acp! Beauty and reliability all rolled into one with Night Sights, serrations on handle, front, back, & slide. I use WilsonCombat 47D mags and the Galco “Miami Classic” shoulder holster!#Kimber#1911❤#🇺🇸#45acp#GalcoLeatherHolsters#ProRaptorll

just wanna let you know the firing pin block doesn't affect your trigger pull on kimbers. the firing pin block is disengaged by the grip safety not the trigger. got the ultra cdp 2 myself and I love it.
@hermesrocha7803 Жыл бұрын
I don’t understand why people get worked up over that block. My Kimber Custom II has the lightest trigger pull than my other series 70 1911s. I have to remind the people I take shooting that that trigger is light. I also like the little extra safety given by that block as well.

Im thinking about getting one. I really liked the sights as well. However I was shocked by the price. At our local gun shop in the Central Valley it was almost $900. I'm also looking at the Springfield MC Operator. Its full size but I really like it and as you know our options are slim in the state.

Would you still recommend the Kimber Ultra carry pistol?
@garyK.45ACP4 жыл бұрын
Technically not a "series 80". That is a Colt designation for their firing pin safety system. The Colt firing pin safety system is activated/deactivated by pulling the trigger. Some people object to this, claiming it causes a heavier trigger pull. The Kimber has a firing pin safety/block also but it is activated/deactivated by the grip safety and does not affect trigger pull. Kimber calls this the "II" series. Either system locks the firing pin unless the firing pin block is deactivated by either pulling the trigger or depressing the grip safety. They are both "drop safe" but use two different systems to accomplish the same thing. Great guns. Polish the feed ramp and extractor hook, use Wilson Combat mags and you will get flawless performance. I have two of these (Ultra Carry II and Ultra CDP II) both work perfectly even with lead bullet handloads for practice.

On my series 80 Kimbers, the firing pin block is defeated by the grip safety. Not the trigger pull. That is why the trigger pull is so good. Also that it why you do not press the grip safety while removing the slide during disassembly.

It is not a Series 80. Different system entirely.
