so deserved 40 but also she should have won scd 2012 because she got the most 40s and made the most progress over the 12 weeks and you can tell she enjoyed every week and how much it meant to her to get the first 40!

Dani forgot steps during the Charleston section of her Quickstep and it was a predictable routine, and it's much easier to fuse Charleston and Quickstep than Tango and Cha Cha. The tangle is her dress getting caught in her heel, but she recovered very fast and that itself deserves recognition.

I've included this video as part of a playlist called Eurovision at Strictly where I have linked taken the best performing country at that year's Eurovision Song Contest that I can link to the background of either a pro or contestant as the pros tend to come from various European countries. At the 2012 contest in Baku, Azerbaijan that country was Russia who were second with a bunch of elderly women baking cookies on stage - I kid you not. Pasha, Kimberley's partner, is Russian.

Given the level of difficulty of the routine, the scale the judges created by giving Dani 38 and former SCD performances that have been scored perfectly, I think Kimberley deserved the 40. This is not the first time judges have discounted a stumble. All that Kim did in the performance must have outweighed it.
