I never thought about applying leave-in conditioner in the shower under the water! Maybe that's why so many leave-ins end up flaky on me, because my hair wasn't warm. Thanks for unlocking the secrets of low-porosity hair.

I'm definitely a poofy rooter. At some point I've realized that my issue might be not applying product to my roots as well as the ends, but I don't listen to self like I should. 😫 I kinda felt like applying deep conditioner to my scalp was counterproductive (even though it gets wrenched out) considering I JUST cleansed my scalp. Ima do better though.!! Thank you for the tips.!! 🤗❤❤❤

Putting the leave in, in the shower is a game changer. I don't do wash and gos, I have been doing a lot of mini twist, but my hair does stay moisturized longer. I do need to start keeping the shower cap on, at least for a little bit, once I'm done. I always stretch my hair in 4 big twist while it dries, then I style.

I love watching your hair videos. I tried the clay mask on my hair. The clay mask made my hair soft however, when I shampooed and deep conditioned my hair it felt hard. I think I have low porosity because moisture can’t get into my hair, it sits on top. What shampoo and deep conditioner should I use for hard texture hair?

Do you think silicones in conditioner affect your hair’s moisture retention? I have been using conditioners with silicone for a while now and am wondering if that’s one of the factors contributing towards my frizz.
@laurynhill37474 жыл бұрын
If you use silicones you should be using a clarifying shampoo as well! You might have buildup that the silicone is blocking the moisture. This should help with your frizz 😊
@17bwicks4 жыл бұрын
If you are using silicones you need to clarify monthly. I use a sulfate shampoo once a month. They do have sulfate free clarifying shampoo if u don’t want to use a sulfate shampoo.
@preciosa85744 жыл бұрын
Jessica Uben if you use a conditioner with non water soluble silicones, the leave in conditioner or cream or whatever you put into your hair after conditioner to leave it in your hair, it will not penetrate into your hair strands, because the silicone from the conditioner u used in the shower, will block anything from going into ur hair
@nstiNctiVnatur4 жыл бұрын
No. Silicones themselves do not cause dryness. I use silicones to aide in locking in moisture. Once I properly cleanse my hair, I deep condition with a moisturizing mask that does not contain a silicone then I may follow up with a silicone based conditioner to seal in all the goodness. If you follow that pattern you’ll find your hair staying moisturized a lot longer. Once you apply that silicone you lock out any other moisture from coming in. So once your hair feels dry again you’ll need to properly cleanse your hair before you can get the full benefits of using any other product.
