Great list Kim. There are two games that I'm surprised didn't make your list though. The first game I would say is missing is Star Control II; the 3DO version, with its surprisingly good voice acting (for a 90s game). The second is Sid Meier's Alpha Centari (with the Alien Crossfire expansion). Civilization 2 was good, in fact if it had the cultural boundaries introduced in Civ 3 it would be my favorite. However, Civ 3 with the Warhammer mod is probably in my top 3 favorite games.

10 million subscribers is a curse, it turns into a circus which is what a lot of these KZbin stars are part of without realising it. Kim definitely deserves a wider audience, but she has a real community of fans, something that would be lost with millions of subs

Hi Pam! Your list was awesome as well. Now you should buy a ZX Spectrum! :) Personally I'd recommend a C64 first but I grew up with that one... Anyway, they're both great. And now it's bloody late. There's a great documentary called From Bedrooms to Billions, about the UK games industry in the 80s/90s? Quite fascinatingly different to what Nintendo was doing in North America.

I like this a lot: it's not THE definitive list, it's YOUR definitive list. Very bold, quirky and fun. Thanks, if only for making me shout 'YES!' in Morrisons when I heard you confirm Fifa98: that and PES4 had me locked into the list... ;) As ever, some nice gems I'm now itching to play as well as some classics I thought I was alone in :) thanks again.

One of the best lists ever on KZbin. I cannot be the only person that just needs to hear Aeris' themes to get goose bumps and start feeling the heart strings getting pulled- it must be special. Its the same feeling you feel when you encounter love... but it's with a video game! It's messed up but that's FF7.

Why I love this channel does a top 100 but actually thinks about it and every game is a representation of Kim. So many channels do this and just go to reddit copy paste a nice safe list and read a wiki description thanks Kim so many games brought to my attention which is the point of these vids for me.

I want you to know that you are the first retro gamer I ever watched on KZbin and you are still a rock star that needs more subs I mean it's a crime that you don't have more!! That was a great list Kim I played quite a few of those on my Genesis back in the day and I agree Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage 2 were the best of the series. My all time favorite Genesis game? It's a tie between some baseball game I got with the system and Gunstar Hero's. And oh you convinced me to get FFVII to play on my PS2 and I found a copy in good condition for a great price. I often think modern top 100s miss out far too many retro games. this is refreshing. cant help wanting to chuck godfather for mafia on the pc. and no manic miner!!! woah woah woah kim
@madblank
@madblank 6 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing, Godfather is here and no Mafia? But I guess a top 100 is subjective, some games you spend a lot of time with because that's what you got, and some you never get to play... Greatest impact of a game is in it's own era, playing it a few years after that won't have the same impact.

Yeah, if you like micromanagement, modern KOEI strategy games are way too streamlined, the ROTK I remember the most is X with its 3D maps, and a separate class of halberd troops (changing rocket paper scissor system by making archers RANGED unit instead of beats spears, loses to cavalry), and needing to produce and transfer every type of weapon you use, something removed now, all these caravans with supply lines... Debate and duel minigames too. And, of course, 8, with the officer mode and tons of events. Challenge scenarios in 9 were also fond memories.

I love your appreciation for Retro Games. I have so many Retro Games that I played and still love today. They aren't the most famous or ingenious ones, but they are classic fun whose music, gameplay, and challenges i keep coming back to. Some examples are, off the top of my head: 1. Super Off Road the Baja, for SNES 2. Turok for the Game Boy 3. James Bond for Game Boy 4. Army Men for PS1/N64 5. Fighting For 64 for N64 6. The Strike Series- Desert Strike / Jungle Strike/ Urban Strike for SNES 7. Super Chase HQ for SNES These are great fun to play to this day. I'll have to give a shot to the one's you listed too.

I need you to do something for me. I love your video's , but its turned in to a bit of a ritual with me to get pissed on a weekend night, and before going to bed watching one of them . Its not that I need to be pissed to watch them, far from it, but its just turned into a habit. Anyway the problem is I normally only last about 10 minutes before I start dozing in and out, and therefore miss stuff, so in future videos I would like you to shout WAKE UP GARY !!!! every five minutes . Great video Kim. The skill to make such a mammoth video seem short and undeniably "KIM"! and a lot of games which would make my top 100 being a speccy then mega drive and amiga kid myself. I'd add more driving games maybe micro machines 2, ride racer and wipeout ps1. Also tekken. A few more obscure ones like wiz n liz and fuzzball from the amiga. Speccy I lost a lot of time on footy manager games like football director 2, league challenge, advanced soccer sim, footballer of the year 2 etc.

For someone who has such a "soft-spot" for retro games , such as yourself , I was incredibly surprised that you didn't say one good word (*which translates as a "place in the top-100" ) for "Lemmings" !!! what a masterpiece that game was !!!. Anyway , it's your personal top-100 so I can't argue that much. ---P.S. I remember myself back in 1993-94 being a VERY strong "Sensible soccer" player. Recently though , I bought it from GOG and tried to play it again ,when I realised that my "sensible soccer-glory days" are over !! seemed so difficult for some weird reason !!! was I so much more capable when I was a kid ?? lol !! (*nevertheless , incredible soccer game indeed !! ) ---P.S. 2 : Thanks for the memories ,back from the good old days !!
