I don't know if this counts for this region but there are 3 drum like things spread around this region, you can see one at 1:10:06 on the stone infront of the waterfall. Each of these drums teleports you into a differetn realm where you can get one precious chest per chamber and if you complete all 3 chambers you can get another luxurious chest too, im pretty sure there are guides on where to find these on youtube. I typed this cause i dont know if these can give you obsidian ring fragments so just in case you miss one you know where to look

My guess is yes they do i think you are talking about the 3 trails of the Masters of the Night Wind if so nice tip i did them all before going for this exploratopn and i have one ring(fragment) already so im almost certain of this

those chests don't count towards this region's exploration specifically, and the fragments are just dropped randomly while exploring Natlan, so there's a chance you couldn't craft it until you opened every chests available in this patch
