Idk if you saw but the map I made for Ducain’s contest had the rocky surfaces higher than a 45 degree angle which made it more mountainous. Once you learn the noise, erosion, and slope painting tools you can make amazing looking mountains. And it takes like 10 minutes max.

Well that depends, for the more intense ground editing you could put a series of grapple points, for the less serious you could put roads and stuff like that.

Best thing to do when using noise for mountains is to use actual rocks and the erosion tool also another one but i forgot what it was it is like the flatten but softer and not making the area flat.

Here's another tip - double up on textures. Use a smaller radius and paint parts at random. Like the alpine mixture with the alpine soil. It really breaks up the monotony of single textures. Utilize rock formations as well and match your textures accordingly. That will really make your terrain pop.

I've FC5 on Both the PC and XBOX ONE X actually; I have it on Both XB1 X's one in the Den/playroom 75" here in the Office I have 1 xbox , 1 xbox 360, PC and Xb1 X. My Point here is There is no way in Hell I'll Edit on the consoles!! As the PC is so exact, and Very UI satisfying! I've bought every FR X game love them all! This is by far The best ever ..Except for the EARLY RELEASE BUGS... THIS IS JUST A BETA FOR $99... G's I've had to remove the PC version 3 times to make it work w/o UI display bubs! damn! hey it may seem as though I''m ranting here but I'm 70 and cantankerous has hell.. What can I say.... They should make the maps bigger. The building space just seems too small. Also, they need to add 4 player story coop, have progress save for both players if they are on a similar percentage of completion, and remove the tether system.

You need to be careful with noise and how 'spikey' your map is. Sometimes it can't handle it while loading the navigation mesh and either crashes on upload or takes forever to load and times out while trying to play once published. Noise is a great tool but I'd advise against using it on distant terrain. You can use rock assets and trees to cover your distant back drop without overloading the Nav Mesh.

Unsorted Gaming all good. There was a few people having issues with rough terrain. My friend included. It would fail to upload. When the terrain was smoothed out and less spikey it uploaded fine. A few others have had issues with it loading to be played. It would take ages to load and people would just leave, or the host would timeout while loading at it would kick everyone back to the title screen. The spikier the map, the more stress is put on the memory usage to load it all. If it's a small map with hilly scenery, you can fake the back drop. Use noise on things closest to the play area, for everything else, there's Mastercard... or just fake it.

Timmy Redspin check that all the npc is not phasing into a object or terrain. Go into the map validation and find what npc is doing that and raise or move it.

I make wonderful maps that are beautiful. But i can never figure out how to validate the map. It tells me i have objects clipping. (Single trees and props ect.)

i know im a bit late to the party but a tip i saw (i haven't done it myself but it makes sense), is to put an Ai on the opposite side of a map side of the map and put up a "patrol grid" thing, whatever the big purple boxes are, where you want the Ai to drive to then link the Ai on the other side of the map to that control area and when the map starts off, if you put a vehicle next to them ideally they will get in the vehicle and drive in to their selected location. another tip, is if you want some illusion of wildlife is to, again put the animal spawn and their control zones on opposite sides of the map and make sure the animal is set to re-spawn then, make the zone really small and put a fire or something inside that control zone that damages the animal (make sure it does damage because i don't think all fires do damage), which will kill the animal, then, you have an indefinite loop of wildlife running through your map :) i haven't tested this but from what it sounds like it should work.

2 ways, hover the cursor over an object and you'll see 'object options' push whatever button it says (square on PS4, but probably same on Xbox), then edit its coordinates. Or you can select the object and hold R2 and tap L2 to swap each axis to rotate. Hope this helps!

Its not really possible. You can private lobby, but it work the same way as normal matchmaking. So you gotta vote for your map and hope the rest does the same.
