Big Island w/ Kimi Werner - Spearfish Bowhunt Catch and Cook. Wild Roasted Lamb Friendship Adventure

Kimi Werner goes on another friendship adventure to the Big Island. She explores Mauka to Makai (mountain to ocean) and leaves her comfort zone of the underwater world to try new things like bow hunting and surfing. She visits Haloa Aina (link below), a native forest restoration project that plants native trees and manages the over-population of invasive species such as feral sheep and pigs through simply using subsistence hunting. She is guided by her friend Justin Lee on a bow hunting expedition, in hopes to cook a feast for a special birthday celebration. Buddy also gets to see his first waterfall ever!

Yes, I know your confusion about killing that ram. I've found it best to say a little prayer of thank you. But also, honor that animal's life-giving by not wasting any of it, hunting always to eat, never for sport. Btw, during the week a thought hit me, Where are your, “Not my chicken”? Can't have an island life-style without “not my chickens” running around, and waking everyone just before sunrise all the time. 🤣😂😅😉😎

I love that you don't pose and take a photo with your "kill". That is the most beautiful part. Hunting doesn't have to be a show of strength, it's okay to just have respect for the animal, and with that I mean that you don't have to pose with it afterwards.

I hunted the Big Island near Pohakuloa Training Area a few times back in 1980- 1982 when I was stationed at Schofield. We hunted with hand guns mostly, but sometimes with M16's. Wild pigs and goats - not sure which one I like better, they both taste delicious!
