Botan line seems like a marketing catchphrase now. People paying premium for essentially a very large Karashigoi parent which they used to pump out a bunch of babies. One particular vendor has stated that it's just Dainichi cashing in on this trend at the moment.

The botan line Matsuba didn't come from a Karashigoi parent. It was a whole host of different koi in the original spawning. Initially it was just a bunch of babies but now it has been heavily refined.
