As everyone else is saying, im legit wondering if they saw a different movie from me. I was BALLING in every flash back scene, realizing this is what hurt rocket so much. Warlock and the bad dog subplots feel like they got torn up by rewrites due to they delay for sure. But Adam does still fit into the theme of self descovery vs what your ment to be. Rocket was ment to be a discarded experiment, but rose above. The animal people were forced to be humans instead of being what ever they decided. Quill trying to force gamora to be who she was and not accepting who she is now. Drax thinking hes point is to fight and not to protect. Mantis says her arc very clearly. Adam was made to just be a tool to kill the guardians and capture rocket. He didnt know anything outside of that or what his mom told him todo. Him getting saved led him know hes allowed to make choices for himself. I do see a con as they "wrapped everything up by not wrapping anything up" But thats a small gripe knowing theres more to come

@NF_Redux Жыл бұрын
i think Adam could be a very compelling character if he gets his own film with what happened to him in this one. born too early, treated as a killing machine, even though he's still essentially a child, manipulated by his mother and the High Evolutionary, and saw his mother killed by the High Evolutionary because the Guardians he is now a part of inadvertently pushed the High Evolutionary to destroy the planet and his mother. a great writer could make an amazing film out of all that, and Gunn set all that up for whoever takes on the next iteration of Guardians in the future.

This is what every superhero film, hell every blockbuster, should strive for. Gunn delivered an all-timer trilogy. The writing is crisp, the humor organic and actually funny, the music is expertly crafted, and the action in this film is sensational and shows how much Gunn has grown from film to film (Daredevil finally has competition with that one-shot). Rocket’s story had me in tears, even if I could tell what was going to happen at times. It was handled with so much care and maturity that it just made me annoyed with other films in this franchise not giving as much of a fuck as James clearly does. The cast was insane top to bottom. Everyone had a moment to shine and delivered. The Guardians feel more connected and unified than the fucking Avengers.

about the Zune: Peter was so protective of the Walkman because it was the last thing his mother gave him. And so Peter being desperate to get the Zune back makes perfect sense because it was the last thing his adoptive father Yondu gave him, albiet via Kraglin passing it on to him. Peter uses music to connect to the people he loves, and to remember the people he's lost. it's the reason music plays such a big part in the Guardians story - music connects us.

I don’t really watch In Review much… why does Greg’s plot reading sound like he hates every second of this movie? Is this another stupid Greg character he does bc it’s Marvel and not DC? Seriously how do you gloss over Rocket’s first word being “hurts” and not talk about feeling a dagger in your heart? I came to this vid specifically bc I thought KF being the compassionate, big-hearted community they are, would feel all the same things I did during this film. But I found only Tim seemed to feel that, and everyone else “felt nothing in that moment” or made jokes about dead tortured animals, fictional as they may be. You’re telling me the guy who cried because Atreus got a hug has no compassion for tortured creatures in captivity forming a loving family together and then being ripped apart?

To have the most mid of mid movies guardians 2 as high as they do has always sat wrong with me, but then to basically dunk on this movie mostly is insanity. This movie was fantastic in every way. And it has become clear that it seems like Nick just makes up whatever he wants to feel as a detractor, because there's no way this looked like a movie filmed on a TV set. It didn't have the prior complaints legitimacy of something looking bad. As far as CD is concerned. Nothing in this movie felt rushed. The CG did not look bad in any way. The sets did not look bad in any way. It hit the right emotional beats. It felt far more like the first guardians in the second one ever did. Genuinely couldn't tell you a single plot point other than daddy is a planet and daddy wants to rule the universe from the second movie. I've wanted a couple times in every single time. Super disappointed w just all of Greg this episode. His super down and just obvious no caring for this movie just made this episode so hard to listen to. Like y’all we’re excited to see this and talk about this movie especially with Greggy but bro was just a major buzz kill. If you don’t care about the movie don’t be in a 2hr In review to talk about it idk

Anyone else think that this wasn't the real High Evolutionary? I think it was halfway the movie, but one of the cronies (the female one I believe) noted something about the High Evolutionary not having finished "his treatment" after he was behaving erratic and the way she and the other crony looked at him makes me feel like they were watching an experiment. Also def a top 10 Marvel movie imo.

I'm really glad the comment section verified what I was thinking, these guys takes are bad. I think Tim is like the only one that actually gets it. I re-watched both Guardians movies in the week leading up to the this one and I really don't see how you can think Vol 2 is better. Vol 2 does not feel nearly as focused as this movie and while none of the Guardians movies are bad, it's easily the weakest one. I also take issue with them saying it felt rushed, or not a proper end? Where does that come from? Because someone didn't die? The other movies always had death and loss, I think it was a nice surprise everyone lived. We were all ready for someone to die, so when nobody does its a pleasant surprise. The sadness and definitive end comes from the passing of the baton to Rocket. This trilogy felt like we saw the origins of the Guardians of the Galaxy as a team which continues on even after some of our key characters leave it. Felt just like a comic book, the Guardians are still out there doing their thing albeit with new members. P. S. Greg, you gotta get more into these plot summaries. You have really been slacking lately, you seem like you just don't care.

You really need to redo the rankings with a different voting system - if you use an individual score for each film and tally it up, it will come out much more accurate than everyone having to give a ranking so it goes above a particular film, even though that means it might be above one that they think is better, just because of the way the list has been put together.

I’m not the biggest fan of the first two Guardians movies but man this third movie was one hell of a time. This one is the best of the trilogy!

Haven’t watched the in review yet but this movie was great. So many times, I was like “oh…that character is going to die”, “no, that one”. James actually subverted our expectations by NOT killing a main character. I really enjoyed some of jokes and moments in GOTG2 more (I will never NOT ball my eyes during Yondu’s funeral) but, overall, GOTG3 was amazing, number 1 and a beautiful close to this chapter.

The very end stinger saying "The Legendary Star Lord will return" made me think of Kitty Pryde since X-Men characters are supposed to be introduced sometime down the line.

Another fun fact, the entire MCU Spider-Man trilogy came out in between Guardians 2 and 3. Really puts it into perspective how large the gap between those 2 movies was

I loved this movie but where were Peter’s mask and rocket boots?
@youngtexas210 Жыл бұрын
Gunn said on Twitter the mask was broken in vol 2 and was supposed to stay that way. But Disney brought it back in IW. He also said the boots were replaced by the superior jet packs Rocket made lol

@@youngtexas210 Ohhhh okay at least it was addressed somewhere cause I was like his gear would’ve helped out a lot in this movie lol.

Music has been an overt motif and outright theme of guardians franchise. If not music .. dance. I appreciate the througline of music getting its culminating spotlight in the trilogy cap. Even the villain acknowledged the importance of musical arts to his "utopian" world. In the flashback he deconstructed the concept of music as a collection of sounds to form harmonious melodies. Not to mention Drax (and even Nebula finally dancing) in the closing scenes.

Got about 11 minutes in and realised they didnt like this film anywhere near as mich as i did. I'd put it above 2, personally. Will need to rewatch to say for certain. Rocket's backstory was incredibly dark, and they wiped out an entire planet at one point. So to say it felt lighter than expected is odd. The ending was bitter sweet, the crew all grew as people which meant they had to go their seperate ways. A very definitive ending for this incarnation of the team. Making Rocket the new leader was an earned moment after his personal arc.

It took me a month to get around watching this movie just to be able to listen to you guys review it. I loved the movie and even before watching you guys I'm concerned about how the comments are reflecting on your takes, but I respect the discourse!

I don’t watch In Review for their reviews, I watch them just for the entertainment favor and laughs, because they usually have the weirdest and most bonkers take on films and filmmaking and this episode is exactly why.

Nick, you’re my man, but are you sure you didn’t just hate this movie? You mostly just criticized. Usually, I agree with Nick and disagree with Andy, but… I agree (with Andy) these needle drops were weak, but I’m a 44 year old black guy that was a teen in the Midwest during the 90’s. Probably didn’t grow up with the exact same influences as you guys. And… I disagree (with Nick) that the High Evolutionary went down too easy. All the Guardians whooped his ass. Rocket caught him off guard and then they all kept him off balanced until the killing blow. It was awesome!

I think this is the best of the trilogy. The one thing that brought the film down was the frequency of the Adam Warlock jokes, that could of been tighter. I think this film will be one of the MCU films that is looked back on more positively as time goes on.

My biggest problem with the movie is it’s way too “James Gunn” the amount of times the characters themselves pressed play on a song that would then play out for the movie was ridiculous and cheesy as all hell. There was a way better balance for the music in the other two movies.

Safe movie? That's how we describe this movie? Wat is death the only way to not be "safe" reminds me of ppl like seth rogan thinking only edgy death and sex makes something mature😂 kinda funny usually has bad takes but this entire videos takes still surprised me. Dont be rash 😮 🤚

I have liked the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. But I love this movie. It was such a nice balance of character development for everyone. I am so glad no one died. That's so easy to do. Everyone had their own story. My only problem was the music. They didn't need to show playing songs. Just play the songs.
