This was one of my favorite conversations. I wish I could join in and tell Colin about my experiences here in Argentina, where our society collapsed in 2001, they also took the money from our bank accounts, we had hyperinflation in 1989, and the situation with our government giving money and free shit to people lead to currently almost half of the population of Buenos Aires getting or wanting some part of that money.

I know this video is old, and I should preface this by saying that I respect Colin's opinions on many things, and I'm aware that he's been making a concerted effort to be less combative with random people on the internet. All that being said, goddamn it's infuriating to hear him misdiagnose the primary issues in American society. Somehow the poor and disenfranchised are more to blame for our banking collapse than the incredibly irresponsible, ungodly wealthy bankers? What?? I'd love to have a conversation with Colin one day where some of these statements are given the opposition and counter arguments that they deserve.

Military spending is out of control, but the answer isn't getting the gov more involved in education and giving more money to the "needy." American "poverty" is not real poverty. Having a cell phone, TV, and cable is not being poor.

Hey Greg, I know you're not cruising around in the comments, but if you do read this, I highly recommend the book 'Brave New World' by Adolphous Huxley. It basically paints a picture of what the future will be like, and the new society the forms around it. It's pretty comparable to George Orwells '1984', but while that book took big liberties for the sake of metaphors, 'Brave New World' feels more realistic and actually gives us a reality that we may experience soon.
