Bosman cleared up what happened with Ford on his stream - Ford was supposed to praise Troy Baker and Todd Howard, which he immediately did when he came on stage and the prompter apparently still said he should do that, which he already did, so he was like "Skip this (I already did this)". So there was nothing else there that he just wanted to skip, he was basically just ahead of the prompter.

10% ownership is really not that big of a deal. Nothing to see here. If Sony isn’t buying them, they probably aren’t getting bought for a while.
@jermelpurse3018Ай бұрын
It’s enough ownership to potentially shape the path forward for the company to have influence on what deals they enter into what deals they don’t enter into but yes, 10% is not rocking the boat because all the other shareholders could easily stand up and say no we are here for the money.

Kadokawa was fearing a potential hostile takeover and approached Sony. This isn't the first time they approached Sony but Sony hasn't wanted to flat out purchase all aspects of Kadokawa. This deal is huge, Sony being the Majority owner ( a 3rd party that owns the most amount of stocks outside of the main parent company ) they give Kadokawa stability to continue business as usual while at the same time working together to see how each company operates. Worse case scenario if other companies start to encroach on the territory of a hostile takeover they can just sell more shares to Sony which they prefer vs another company . Alternatively they can also just periodically sell more and more shares to Sony in general until an acquisition is just a natural step.
@ooombasa5080Ай бұрын
Er, lots of acquisitions usually start out this way. Continually increasing shares until the big buy. This latest move allows Sony a seat at the table, which would make future negotiations go more smoothly should they happen. Not to mention that up until the big buy, Sony is likely to continue increasing their stake in Kadokawa. The reality is that we know from reports Kadokawa approached Sony. There's huge synergy between the two. Now, it's just a matter of sorting out the little details. It didn't happen now, but at this point, it's a question of when, not if.

That's interesting that Tim, as an outsider, thinks that the release of Bloodborne was when souls went mainstream, as I feel like many fans would say its one of the most niche Soulsborne games. Its deffinitely one of the hardest with its fast paced combat and punishing healing mechanics. I remember on release many people quit the game before they even got to the first boss, which is way worse than the experiences first time players had with the Dark Souls games.

The first few hours of learning was brutal. I feel like the timing on the gun counter being at the top of their swing instead of on contact went over a lot of people's heads.

@Shawngaetz8161 funny thing is that I barely ever parried in Bloodborne. I completed the game on my first playthrough by almost entirely just dodging.

The boat analogy doesn’t make much sense since it’s an individual object. A better analogy would be if someone had a building and was selling rooms, and then someone comes out of nowhere and buys 51% of the rooms and then claims to be the one who gets to make all decisions about the building

Xbox not only needs to ship a cross platform UI, it also needs to be great. Steam is only a console and controller away from doing Microsoft’s next model, only better. Not to mention Microsoft’s PC store is still a dumpster fire compared to Steam and Epic.

Andy's gotta stop saying "Destiny 2 is over." He asked what players are still playing for. The new content? There are still episodes being released regularly and a new expansion on the way. I understand the sentiment behind his point, but I don't think it's a fair comparison to make to Xdefiant.
@RossMillerMediumMashupАй бұрын
I really don't think the idea of a "unified Xbox experience" is nearly as appealing to most people (ESPECIALLY PC gamers) as Tim thinks here. So far Microsoft's platform is the worst part of Game Pass PC. It locks files away in weird and arbitrary ways (if you re-install Windows without uninstalling Game Pass games from an external drive, you literally can't remove them without essentially hacking Windows), and it's just a poorly featured launcher in general, especially compared to Steam. I guess it's good that they're trying to improve it, but I don't have faith in them delivering something good here.

Anyone know if this means I can play the Xbox games I own anywhere. For instance I have elden Ring on Xbox but can't play it on PC through the Xbox app.
@Jonnyonthespot123Ай бұрын
Maybe you can stream them over game pass streaming?
@alexlyster3459Ай бұрын
So, "Play Anywhere" is more of a case by case thing. The Publisher of the game basically needs to allow it to be in effect for a game. So, in general all first party Xbox stuff has it, but for other games it's worth checking before you buy if that is a feature you are counting on. Unless you're talking about streaming?
@CheefChaosАй бұрын
So they actually shut down the Gamepass app Google: there is a new streaming page, confirmed my Elden Ring not showing up on the list at this time

Are you dumb? because you clearly don't know how much influence Sony has now in kadokawa. 10% + a special alliance to handle the publishing of games.
