We started Singapore Math in June. I use KZbin for lots of the books, since we weren't going to the library (and I don't always look too ahead..haha.) Almost every book I've tried to find there is a video of a teacher reading it online. So helpful!

AubrieS That is so good to know - thank you! Hopping on KZbin is easier than organizing holds at my library 🤣

Leah Kuqo Good I’m so glad it helped! I’m always looking for videos of what people actually used instead of just what they plan on using. Although I like those videos too 🤣

Thanks!! I am almost done getting everything ready for September (1st grade & 8th grade). I was printing a lot of the PDF’s to have them available and I was trying to figure out which manipulative or rods to purchase! Perfect timing.

Thank you for this video! I know I want to use Dimensions KA/KB with my daughter, but the price tag on the manipulatives was a little bit much to take in. I started pricing it all out on Amazon, then I found a Rainbow Resource PK kit for less than 1/2 the price as Singapore. But I really started to question how similar some of the manipulatives were to each other, like do you really need Attribute Blocks, Pattern Blocks AND Tangram Blocks? This answered so many of the questions I had on the Dimensions Manipulatives. I figured if we get to a point where I absolutely think I need something additional, I can always hop on Amazon and order it, but for now we will stick to your recommendations.

Hello angie! I'm so thankful to have found one of your helpful videos in youtube. I'm planning to import Dimensions K from U.S to the Philippines, and i'm a bit overwhelmed with the manipulatives i need to purchase. In your video, you mentioned only around 5-6 manipulatives, but the Dimensions list on the website has more including clockface, dominoes, etc... should i not buy them? I want to be able to get everything that i need to include in my box since i'm going to ship them overseas... really appreciate if u could help me. Thank u so much! - Misce from the Philippines

Hi! That is so hard to decide, I didn't really feel like we needed a clockface during the K program ... same with dominoes! But it really depends on how comfortable you are as the teacher ... maybe look through the teachers guide and make note of items you would like to use or times when you can sub in different manipulatives!

Thank you, Angie! This is very helpful! :) Random question- did you use the tests with Singapore Math Dimensions? If so, would you recommend that? My instinct is that it's not all that necessary, but curious if you thought otherwise.
@sciencemama4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Glad it was helpful! I don't currently use the tests but I feel like I could go either way. For the age of my kids I would consider using the tests more to gauge their progress then to test them ... but I have a pretty solid idea of how he is doing, so no tests yet!

Karishma Gajiyani For Kindergarten we have mostly done open ended art - I love the book The Artful Parent. As for this year we are giving Artistic Pursuits a try!

Do I need 2 textbooks and 2 workbooks if I'm teaching twins?
@sciencemama3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you would need two of each unless you want to copy everything ... but since it is color, I'm not sure if I would copy.

Great video! I'm still waiting on the curriculum to arrive. Unfortunately, the textbooks for KA and KB are out of stock right now. We're on hold to officially start school, but I'm starting a morning routine with my two kiddos to get them in the routine of structured play/learning. Do you have a morning circle time? If so, how long does it typically take you to complete? What do you do for the days your children don't want to complete an activity? I'm following my kiddos lead, and there are days were he just prefers not to and will tell me so. I am/will be working part time, so our mornings will be designated for "school." My two y/o absolutely loves it whereas my 4 y/o, requires a bit of verbal encouragement.Thanks again! I'm glad I found your channel.

Physhtail Swims Easing into a routine is a wonderful idea. We do a morning time right after breakfast and I love it - it’s mostly me reading, or we sing, or memorize poetry/scripture. But I’ve created little bins for everyone to have something to do while I read which I’ve found helps them a lot. We don’t do specific projects or crafts at that time - I’m thinking of doing more art in the afternoon! I actually just filmed my schedule/routine video, should be up soon 😀. I would say following their lead at those ages is a wonderful idea and it sounds like you are doing great!
