My daughter has not used her kindle in a couple of months. She went to use it yesterday, and the screen is black. it would not turn on. We charged it over night. I tried this and it doesn't work. My kindle fire hd 7 still will only boot to the logo and stay there. I have never rooted this device or anything. It is in like new condition since I only used it a couple of times since I bought it about a year and half ago. Last time I used it it needed an update. I let it update and then I didn't use it for months. Now it will only boot to logo screen.

I have a Kindle Fire HD that is a couple years old and it keeps getting a low on RAM message even though I have run the Clean Master app. Would doing a reset help clean out the RAM? Do you use the same method as in your video? Does a reset wipe anything important off your Kindle?

I've got a hipstreet vanguard tablet and it's got a password on it but it doesn't have a volume button on the side only a home button and power button on the top

i have the newer one and i powered it off, then held volume up and power for about 15 secs, let up and the factory reset options awaited me. very happy since i forgot the sign in info... or maybe it was volume down... well if one doesnt work, the other will. :)

Is there a way to factory reset a locked one? I bought a storage unit and there was one in it, but it is locked with a child lock on it and a parent section. It also says that it needs to download content before moving forwards which requires the password. I want to use it for my kids, so if anything can easily be done, please let me know.

I held down for 40 seconds allowed 40 seconds before hitting power button again. Screen comes up with lock, but lock button won’t swipe left. I can’t get past lock symbol.

Shamaninja14 No, a factory reset was done, all the data that was on the kindle is gone. (Game progress, movies etc.) Although, all of the books, movies, games, etc. Are still in the cloud, you just have to re download them.

I have a problem with Parental controls... my mom put it on YEARS ago and cant remember password. I cant reset the password because it asks to sign in to the Amazon account.
