If you have the 2022 Kindle Scribe or want to spend less money, the latest update has all the software improvements of the 2024 version.
@RawansReviewsАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing!
@MissBlackMetal29 күн бұрын
The only problem being, the 2022 version will stop receiving software updates 2 years before the 2024 version stops receiving software updates (AKA, planned obsolescence). Not a problem for many people, but for some people who stop using devices once they lose official support, this would effectively cut short the life of their new Kindle (new to them, not to the market) by 2 years, which may not be worth the money they save up front. Just something to remember.

If these two devices had a baby, it would be my dream e-ink tablet! I love the strong colours and continuous page scrolling on the RMPP (not to mention I'm a chronic note taker, so those extra features are ideal on the RMPP), but I also want to carry a smaller device with kindle access. My iPad hurts my eyes when writing on it, so I really do need a e-ink device, but the other colour e-ink tablet brands I'm unhappy with, and I can't decide between these two! I think you've sold me a bit more on the Kindle features so far, but I just keep thinking of how much I was desperately wanting colour before my RM2 broke! It's so hard up decide! 😫

My issue with the Remarkable is the price. With a trade in, you can get 20% off the kindle, which has been revamped despite being a 22 model. A new pen, and a new feel on the screen. I tried both and I just can't justify the price on the pro. 700 is just pushing the limits. We're in ipad territory there.
@raggadazАй бұрын
one thing you forgot: what is about reading books - taking notes in the books or higlight things that are important for you. Can I get books from Amazon Kindle on the Remarkable ? Or do I have to rebuy books in pdf, epub or mobi format to geht them on the Remarkable ?
@markmoreno729513 күн бұрын
I can answer. I have the Remarkable paper pro and you can add pdfs or epubs to read but not kindle books. So if you have lots of Kindle books, you may wish to stay with that platform.

@stevelovescarsАй бұрын
@@christhompsonphotography6783 I found the scribe fairly useless for this. It sends my notes as a pdf or text. The PdF is basically a graphics file and the text format loses all of the formatting I had in my notes. If I wanted to, say, take meeting notes then put them into a Word doc to send out to my coworkers it simply can’t do that… I was better off just retyping my handwritten notes.

Fantastic review, thank you. I'm hoping one day for a device like these that is: • the size of the Remarkable Pro when unfolded, but is foldable; • feels like the Kindle Scribe when writing, but writes with the smooth lines of the Remarkable; • has all the writing tools of the Remarkable Pro, plus more options; • perhaps even has color like Kindle ColorSoft; • has AI functionality with many useful tools -- esp. a mind map tool for note organization, + the 2 AI tools Amazon already offers • has the ability to connect to wifi and send/export documents (which are saveable in a variety of file types, not just .pdf or .jpg) to myself and others, perhaps even with the ability for live editing; • and perhaps most crucially, has a very good camera on the back of it, so that I can take photos [of documents, drawings, artworks, book pages, newspapers, web pages, etc.], see them on the digital notebook screen, and add notes/highlight/add drawings/etc. -- even better would be if I could actually edit the original image once it's on the screen, too (e.g. removing or rotating elements; being able to erase things instead of just being able to add things). That would be my dream digital notebook device. I really hope something like that is made soon! Honestly I think I'd be ok with none of the other features being in it, as long as it had the AI functionality / lots of AI tools, plus a camera, and the ability to save and send the notes as all kinds of file types.

True. This is both a good and bad thing, the hardware is largely the same and still very powerful: 300PPI, magnetic open/close, front light with temperature control, ambient light sensor, orientation sensor, etc, etc. The improvements to the screen texture and the style are quite nice, the stylus is heavier and feels more premium. But people of the 2022 release still get all of the AI and other software improvements (in early next year) which is nice of Amazon to give us, they could've limited those to just the 2024 version as the AI stuff costs them extra to give us.
@er9779Ай бұрын

2:46 - there is a bezel at the bottom; and the Scribe is thinner, not the RMPP .But agree RMPP looks more premium
@RawansReviewsАй бұрын
You're technically right about the bezel on the RMPP, but it's much more seamless and blends in better at the bottom than the black on for the Scribe on the side. In terms of thickness, the RMPP is actually slightly thinner, at 0.20" vs 0.22" for the Scribe. Not massive, but I think the more rounded frame on the Scribe makes it appear thicker than the actual 0.2" difference.

I've heard that Remarkable is not very good at it (and you need to pay a subscription for it ), with iPad that's not a problem, but don't know how convenient Kindle would be to do that. I mean, not just importing PDFs and word files, but also in exporting those notes and files...

For everything else I turn to my Tab S8.

Why do all reviewers float their hands when trying to write, can't you rest your hand normally when writting? you have to float? And one more point I think all of the note taking tablets are absolutely missing the point of their existance... why in the world would you have the ability to give user infinite space and canvas for writting anotating etc, but still limit them to one page just as they have "outside" of the device... insane... If there is a tablet that has functions like excalidraw!!! Or Freeform of apple, that's why I'd want a virtual device for writting... otherwise this is just a fancy way of paying more for paper page...
