Kindle Unlimited with Audible Narration | 2024 Update

If you've seen my previous video, I hope this one can give some clarification. I don't have all the answers, and as you can see, this doesn't work for me all the time either.

Unfortunately it is so difficult to navigate through the audio books in Kindle Unlimited. I wish Amazon provide a filter that show the book with audio narration only.

That's been my main complaint the whole time. They have such powerful search engines at their disposal, it seems like they could use it to create a filter button for KU books with audible narration!

Just bought the newest kindle device and was hoping that it would have the ability to read along with the audiobook. It does it for that app but not the kindle device. Unless I haven’t figured it out yet

yeah, I've noticed that a lot of the kindles don't even have a speaker, but I don't know about the newer models. Mine doesn't work on the kindle device, but only on the app on my phone.

@@TheReadingandWritingLife no speakers but you can connect Bluetooth to it. You can only listen to the audiobook but can’t read and listen at the same time as far as I know. Would think it would be a simple software update to fix

I had a series that was supposed to include narration, but it wouldn't show up. I spent about 40 mins bouncing back and forth between KU and Audible service agents, eventually Audible purchased the audiobooks I had added. (I do have an active audible account) It seems like neither side knows what the problem is.

I had this exact same problem when I was filming this update. It's so weird what seems to be listed as KU with audio, but then doesn't actually have it.

Oh my goodness, I just spent 30 minutes trying to get the audio portion working. Click in the middle and the download is available is not shared on the Amazon site. Thank you!!

This just happened to me! I typically don't have issues, but just tried to download the audio for Marriage Auction (book 1) and it did not work. Then downloaded What the Wind Knows and the audio worked on it... Not sure the issue either but it is frustrating!

I don’t understand how theyve had this problem for years and don’t seem capable of fixing it. I’m not sure if it’s because the status of books change so frequently that it’s hard for the system to keep up with the numbers or what.

I was thinking of getting kindle unlimited is it worth it ? What kind of books do you recommend for a beginner? Nice info I do like audiobooks myself .

I think it's worth it, but it's definitely worth it for the trial to see how often you'd use it. And since you're a beginner, I would pick the genre that you like the most on audio and then just look for books available on audio and give it a shot. I hope you find something you like.

Thank you so much for videos and updates ,not sure if I’m being silly or not but still a little confused as when I download audible narration to listen to it sounds like a computer reading rather than a person is that right ? or is it supposed to be like that ?, i was told doing it like this is just a cheaper was of getting audio book but is exactly the same .

Originally, the books were all audible books read by real voice actors. However, I've noticed that writers can authorize audio versions that are done with the computer voice, and now those are popping up as well. I think that kind of audio is listed as another type, but I'm not sure what it's called. Sorry you've had bad experiences with it. I hope you can find an audio version that is done by voice actors and not something that sounds like a computer.

Thank you for this video, it’s been really helpful. I do have a question. I just wanna make sure I heard you correctly if I want a specific book that’s available as a Kindle unlimited with audible narration I can’t search for it. Is that right? For example, if I wanted to listen to John Steinbeck East of Eden, I can’t put that in a search bar someplace I have to scroll through the books. Do I Understand this right. Thank you very much.

No, you can search for specific books. The problem comes in when you try to search for just a category of books or if you aren't sure what you want to read. It's not great for just browsing because it wants to show you all the KU books and not just the ones with Audible connected. They are improving this search, but not very quickly. If you know the specific book you want, then just search for it and you'll see whether it is on KU with audible narration or not. I hope you find what you're looking for and it's available.

I saw your video from 2 years ago and have used it but this update it helpful. Now I wish Amazon would just let you do ADDITOINAL filters! You can pick Mystery but after that you have to scroll--- through 6000 books! There's no way to filter by author or character (whish I saw but now can't find). Maybe --- someday in the future. Finger crossed!
