Technically you did not get the cable out of the top part of the stand. You can see it sitting there @5:51. I know because that's where I got stuck too.

My Kinect was having a problem, the red light was always on and not starting. I opened the Kinect and on top of it had two plugs and one of them was disconnected, so I plugged it back in and it worked perfectly. I do not know how this plug disconnected. It may have been a fall or even swelling due to the heat.

That's pretty cool how they glue the thing together and the vents break and bend into shit scrap plastic when you take it apart. I also like the gigantic boards that resemble the inside of a SEGA SATURN from 1994. It's good to see that the gears inside the swivel stand are plastic instead of metal, since you spent $150 for it.

I like the idea of the Kinect, its an amazing product. What I dislike is that is doomed to a life of bad xbox games when it could be used for amazing other non-gaming related projects if its source code was released, and hacking it wasn't required

I got my kinect and I didn't know I wasn't suppose to move the sensor part around up and down from the base .as doing so I heard what seemed to be gears stripping ..any ideas on what I can do to fix it??and many times I had friends over and couldn'tplay on it

This is *not* the first time you've been able to control a console game without a controller. We had a thing called the Eye Toy on PS2, and the PS Eye for PS3, both which supported controller-free interaction with games way before the KINECT. Also, when you said "The Kinect is the result of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of research" I think you meant to say "The Kinect is the result of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of MARKETING". Unless you meant the people who invented cameras.

Because the xbox 360 kinect is ancient, so is xbox 360, it is 2 generations old. Not just that the xbox one kinect is discontinued and xbox series x doesnt have a port for it

You don't need to go through all this steps if your kinect breaks, all u need to do is buy some crazy glue and apply to it and job is done.
