I like that Arthur is wearing. A helmet. Heroes in films never wear them and I get it. So their faces can be seen in the film but it’s just crazy. You wouldn’t go into battle without it

Yet now Disney and George Lucas have proved that you don't even need a character to have a face at all. Perhaps film makers should consider that the issue of people's identities being unclear when in armour was an actual historic issue, so people started wearing distinctive things, be it distinctive armour, or heraldry.

If I'm going to hand something to this movie then it's a proper fight. They didn't nerf the main antagonists (Saxon warchief and his son) when it came down to it but they were both incredibly tough to beat. As well they should've been as battle-hardened leaders of a Germanic army.

Fore sure. But if look at it historically the bunch of knights were Samaritans from today South Russia. Tristan fits in the scheme. No Saxon knew what a crossbow is. Till 400 years but the fighting was unbelievable, have to look time and again. :~)

"A roman who betrayed his own people" - I'm not knowledgeable on King Arthur, but knowing he played a role with the romans makes it interesting for me. As a Brit, I love our Roman history. I wish I knew more.

There is a lot to criticize these movie for (artistically and historically), but one thing it did right is showing how hard it is to kill another human being with edged weapons. Almost everyone (beyond a few plot requirements) takes a couple hits to go down. Unless you get steel into the brain, the human body can keep going for quite a while with potentially devastating injuries.

@Roniixx you know, some of those in "the Saxons" hordes were Scandinavians. Hengist and his brother, Hross were Scandinavian captains leading the Saxons mercenaries the Britons hired. The Angles were almost so, and the Jutes were definitely from Today's Denmark, known as Jutlandia then. Some other Scandinavians and Frisians joined the Saxons as mercenary shock-troops (Marines like) and others were Aristocratic chieftains trying their luck abroad already, bringing new settlers from Lower Germany to Britain

It really was a good movie. Most of the fighting makes sense. The men are targetting slots in armor. Our main character where helmets for the most part. Its definitely better thab any modern battle scene

The move itself, yeah, cliché. If Cerdic has just thrust his sword straight through the back of Arthur's neck, that fight's over. But that isn't his style. You also have to take in the entire setup. Both men had measured each other up prior to the battle. Cerdic had deemed Arthur as "a man worth killing". He isn't just skilled and ruthless... he's arrogant as all hell, and to be fair, probably has every right to be. Arthur knows this, and had watched him do very intimidating, very showy moves in his battle with Tristan. He doesn't kill cleanly. He kills to instill fear in his opponents, and reverence from his army. Arthur had injured him to the point that raising his sword was significant effort, and when Arthur was down and vulnerable, Cerdic did not disappoint.

Yeah this movie was just style over substance, but damn it looked cool being so! I loved the actors, the atmosphere, the costumes, the music and the filmography. But yeah, the story is beyond lackluster. In fact, every King Arthur-movie after the 90s have been that way, and they can't include the iconic Arthur, Guinivere and Lancelot lovetriangle because that's a cliche that audiences grew sick of latley . But ey, at least the last one embraced the fantasy-aspect once again
