When Charles took over the throne and declared himself to be the defender of the faiths I knew straight away that the country was lost. By simply adding an S to the word faith he made it crystal clear which direction the monarchy had chosen. Me too! Our late monarch was a beacon of hope! A strong, intelligent, dutiful leader who kept her political opinions to herself.
