On this day in 1944, brave soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy, turning the tide of WWII. Today, we honor the D-Day veterans for their incredible courage and sacrifice. Your legacy of freedom and democracy will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service.

I had two great uncles, one by blood, the other by marriage, there as well. The great uncle by marriage was in a practice operation that encountered the Germans (resulting in a firefight) that was kept classified until 1994 (50th Anniversary of D-Day), of which he and other survivors were invited to the White House to meet President Clinton.

I’m doing a ceremony in Wales tonight and I have a feeling of what Woody.EXE has planned. It will an incredible tribute and we’ve been doing this for 48 hours now. I can’t imagine how exhausted Woody.EXE currently is feeling but he is doing this for me and to keep my emotional health at bay for today. Then we had 80 slpit fires flying overhead us, i laid my wreath on a war grave with a 1944 date on it and as Queen, I was not afraid to show my emotions that morning with crowds in the ceremony watching me. To "all" our Veterans that served in "all" The Wars Thank -You to you and your Families. We cannot begin to show you the appreciation you "all" deserve for the sacrifices you gave and continue to give today. The D-day ceremonies is one way however, if you stand back and watch... it makes one think....is it really to Thank The Men and Women who served or is it photo ops for the politicians. Time and time again, you see all the politicians standing together having their pictures taken. These ceremonies are not for you, they are for The Veterans still alive and the memories they most likely still have. Their stories should be told whether it be by them or family members reading their loved ones words... it sickens me to think it has become more about others and not who really deserves The Thank-You.
