They are trying to protest the use of oil but they might not be aware that their cloths, shoes or many daily things they use are made of by-products from petroleum. Moreover, there is an issue about the shortage of food but they still waste it by smearing food on wax statue. HYPOCRITE 🙃

It is not that they enjoy destroying things, I imagine that the idea is showing how ironic we are as a society. Basically, they spend a huge amount of money protecting pieces of art but people don't really care about protecting the enviroment, or something like that. I really don't care about the pieces of art. I wouldn't destroy it myself, but I think that they have to make some noise in order to be listene. Saddly, not many things have been achieved peacefully.
@Dora0022
@Dora0022 2 жыл бұрын
@@Ireenne I actually think that a lot more was archived peacefully than with violence but we tend to see what is portrayed more dramatically. Maybe you don‘t enjoy or care about paintings or art. But I, and many people, who enjoy going to museums to enjoy some peace, to just reflect and feel something, do. Society was and will never be just and we do not reach goals be angering masses of people by destroying pieces other people worked hard for. Even if we are not reaching a consensus about climate change or any other topic, can we at least try to stay sane and human? Destroying food, someone‘s hard work, and something countless people enjoy will not change anything. People will however question, what these activists do in there daily lives and how they live. Are they completely free of any food, clothing and packaging that contains oil? Do they have a plan for the whole world that could be archived right now? The thing is, most countries don‘t have enough money to give food to their population, they are obviously not gonna care about these issues. I honestly don‘t see how climate change could be stopped and I think that most people should really just understand that it will get worse and we can‘t possibly change that. But we can stay human by not trying to destroy things countless people can enjoy. This is not the way and they need to stop.

I'd love to live in a cleaner environmentally friendly world but I have some questions for the activists 1) what alternatives can they provide or help provide 2) how can they ensure that if we all stop using oil that we all can access alternatives and 3) how can they ensure that the transition can be a) affordable because not all of us can afford solar panels or electric heating for example and b) that it won't stop people being able to go to work, get to their relatives or children in hospital.... I am not against their cause I just think no matter how much you escalate and do damage to prove your point you must also be able to have a plan to provide groundwork for that change... Otherwise defacing art is just vandalism and protesting becomes public disorder.... Like "we want this ... But we don't have any way to help make it actually happen so let's trash stuff and get noticed"

So they are saying that it is offensive to have art when people are starving? Do they realise that many many painters and artists in the past were themselves living in utter poverty when they made the paintings which are very famous today? Their intention is okay but their method is fcked up. When I was in depression, when I didn't have anything, I still drew, I still expressed myself with art. It kept me alive. There are artisans who are starving but still creating art and crafts in my country. I wonder what those people will say when they see these "activists" doing all this. We gotta save the planet and the people. But using these tricks will only make things worse.

I mean it's not hard to make money, sure it might involve some luck and opportunities but that's just how it is. And if someone who has made billions wants to buy some peice of artwork someone painted some years ago then whatever, people seem to care too much about things they shouldn't be caring about, especially when it doesn't even make a difference. It's like if you worked a 9 to 5, went home and bought a dog toy for your pitbull or something. Also, artwork has no value at all, its value is derived from whoever is interested in artwork and the specific piece in general, if anything the artists are like influencers today if they lived in the past, and current artists are basically influencers and they need a following for their art to even be worth something.
