King Con: Last Victim of Australia's Most Notorious Conman - Tracy Hall | I Catch Killers Tracy Hall fell in love with Max Tavita. Life was perfect. There were family holidays, they looked at buying houses, and they’d planned their future together. But it was all a web of lies. Within 18 months, he’d fleeced her of $300,000 in her life savings. She was left with nothing, and the man she knew as Max Tavita was in fact one of Australia’s worst con men. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin True Crime Australia Listen on Apple Podcasts ► Connect With True Crime Australia Online: bit.ly/46xCXDb ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Subscribe To Our True Crime Australia KZbin Channel: bit.ly/3iU23Fm ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Follow Us on Facebook: facebook.com/TrueCrimeAustralia ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00 - Introduction - Tracy Hall 09:28 - Who is Tracy Hall? 13:49 - Life before Hamish McLaren 19:17 - Meeting Max Tavita aka Hamish McLaren 28:43 - A serious relationship with a conman 41:56 - Family holidays and planning a future 44:10 - Spotting the conman from a mile away 51:30 - Flashing cash around 54:11 - Fleecing Tracy of $300,000 01:01:44 - Family, career, love - until it all blew up 01:04:46 - "Who the f*** is Hamish" #truecrime #truecrimeaustralia #crime #crimestory #crimejunkie

The parking moment was a first sign your intuition was warning you that’s why’s important to learn how to listen and trust your intuition. I’ve been always good at it and would quite early in decide not to continue to meet with the person if my intuition was warning me. But I got criticized quite often from friends and family that I need to give people second date/chance. Once I tried to go against it and went with a guy on a second date. It was a disaster and I came home exhausted. My landlady at that time was in her late 80’s. She was the only one who told me that there’s nothing wrong with me not going on 2nd date if I don’t feel like it. Was quite comforting to hear that especially coming from a woman who had experienced so much in life. There’s no point in investing your time into someone you sense something’s off but try to brush it off because that’s what everyone else does. I don’t care what others do because most are in dysfunctional relationships anyway but they endure it because they’re afraid to be in their own. I’d rather be on my own than with the wrong person.

She said it quite at the beginning that she’s not the only one and that that’s the reason she wrote the book.

Maybe he had a script like Nigerian love scammers and Indian call centre scammers. My ex was a fraudster who got away with it all and was never caught,. He tried to get me involved in his frauds but I outright refused, even when it led to violence I still refused. He used his sister in one of his scams but it failed thank God, I hated the way he used his family and lied to them. It showed me who he really was. I left him as soon as I got the chance.

Really? What a narcissistic comment. If you fail to have any empathy for what was done to her and actually listened to the level of manipulation she endured then you're probably running you're own scams. You're obviously so much cleverer than the rest of us, you know, the ones with something resembling a heart, we must be such easy targets when you look so far down on others from your lofty height and superiority.

@@pixd7902 Didn't mean to talk down to anyone. I was trying to make a serious adult comment on the story. She was sleeping with the guy & then invested in some BS. If she was turned on by his stories that he knew the wolf of wall street of something like that then who's fault is that? Women should think about choosing good men & not BS artists. Of course im sorry she lost her $$. Ive trusted women in my life that ive invested my $ in & lost. It doesn't make it a scam. Do you have a insightful comment about the story or did i just rub u up the wrong way with the TRUTH & u wanted to insult me? I say again, any goose that falls for all those 'stock market trading/get rich quick seminars' are just silly & need to be educated that they are feeding a scam industry.

I'm going to have to come back to this podcast because I feel anger. Both the victim & the presenter have mentioned at least 3 times how this story is unlike all the other naive/uneducated older people who've fallen victim to a love scam. It's arrogant, ageist & dismissive to suggest that the subject should be above being victimised in comparison to older people because of her age/education. The truth is...the subject had expentional more know how than any soul above the age of 60 so to not to fall victim & yet she did. Spare some empathy for those that never knew computers or love scams because of their age.
