It was genius to use steamed hams to explain King Crimson. I think part of the confusion with 「Kingu Kurimuson」 is that the events of jojo part 5 is the only version we know. As a result it's harder to understand what impact the stand actually has on the world around it since there's no alternate timeline to compare it to like with 「bites za dusto」 and the process isn't as easy to grasp as 「za warudo」. By using steamed hams, which everyone knows by heart, we can get a better understanding. For Skinner, everything is essentially the same. But for Chalmers, since he never witnesses Skinner retract or stumble through his explanations, nothing appears to be wrong to him since all he sees is Skinners calm and confident explanations, only the result remains. If you still don't understand, essentially, it's The World with extra steps and more generally applicable since it can be used for purposes more subtle than donuting redheads who can't fight back.

For everyone that isn't Diavolo, it's best to illustrate it with that Futurama episode with the time skips. All of the effects of the time that was skipped still come to pass, but since it was skipped (and thus never really happened) nobody knows how they got there or remembers anything from those few seconds. For someone who wasn't facing off against the boss at that moment, since it's such a short time, it'd either be something people don't notice or it'd just seem like a weird brain-fart (one of those "wait, what was I doing?" moments)

That is not really how it works, that would be total removal of the time that was skipped/erased. Imagine you're gonna throw the ball to someone. If you predict you will throw a ball wrong on the first try, then even if you 'erase' when you throw the ball the ball will be thrown, but only you know and observed that you threw it, while for everyone else the ball just appeared in the air going in the direction you threw it. And even that is just not talking about how bad the future prediction really is.

No, the fail would still happen, but you're basically able to get out of situation without anyone noticing. If you saw yourself kicking a soccer ball and missing the goal, using KC would just skip to the moment the ball has missed and is on the ground, but everyone around you wouldn't remember you ever kicking it, while you yourself would have walked to the different position within the time that is skipped. Skinner just uses the ability to skip time to the moment Chalmers has said something, but Charlmers doesn't remember saying anything and assumes Skinner knows what he's doing so it doesn't bother him that much. It's complicated only if you think that you're able to change the future that has been foreseen by the ability.

Epitaph lets him see what happens over the course of the next ten seconds, and what it sees is guaranteed to happen. King Crimson allows the user to act however they want over the next ten seconds, and also makes them intangible. Everyone else acts exactly like how they would have if King Crimson was not used. Nobody remembers what happens when time is erased except for King Crimson’s user
