Was at this show with my son on his 16th birthday! We stood first row right at front stage. Great small venue. My highlight was Fripp pretending to blow smoke off his guitar neck after “burning “ through his solo during Fractured! Let my son drive us home. Great night!!😂🎉

Saw them at the Wiltern in L.A. after Power to believe was released. Life changing. Like a religious experience.

Theatre Of Living Arts Philadelphia, PA 11/16/00 - DAT Soundboard KC -Robert Fripp - Guitar -Adrian Belew - Guitar, Vocals -Pat Mastelotto - Electronic Percussion -Trey Gunn - Warr Guitar "Stomping along at a rate of notes, it’s interesting hearing the Thela immediately career down a different road via the spacey interlude before coming back into focus for the chugging punchfest that is LTIA Pt IV. This is a strong sounding set with the band rocking hard throughout though not without room for some off-piste moments. The first improv is an interesting melange of beat-boxy rhythms and the hand sonic bells melody that would later appear as The Power To Believe melody smeared with some vibrant day-glo guitar FX from which the moto perpetuo of FraKctured. And what a version! Just listen to Mastelotto and Gunn dig deep beneath Fripp’s hurtling lines in the trio section of the piece - it’s an astonishing feat of precision and power. After some gothic strings at the conclusion of Frying Pan the second improv prowls and growls into place with some roaring elephantosity courtesy of Trey Gunn. The second part thrums like some steam-belching industrial mechanism with Belew’s squealing guitar constantly ducking and diving between the galloping beats. Pat’s clearly having a wild time of it throughout the night with some crazy samples at the start of Dinosaur, during and at the end of it. And Mastelotto is the star of Frame By Frame, beating out fascinating patterns during the verses as every bit beguiling as the phasing from the guitarists at the front and end of the pieces." -(DGM/KING CRIMSON/ROBERT FRIPP official website)

How cool must it have been to see them at such a small venue like the TLA in Philly? I'm totally jealous of all the folks in the comments who were there!

Fantastic version of Elephant Talk! I love it when KC strays from the original recording and plays with the song to offer something new, something expansive, and often very exciting. Thanks for posting!

It's weird how off-putting that was for me, too. I also really was not fond of Jakko's singing.
@christopherjobin-official74406 ай бұрын
Jakko Crimson really isn't bad at all. My main issue is that they let Jakko sing Adrian vocals on like 3 songs. The big thing about Modern Crim was that they played music from all eras... But it was more like all pre 80's and an odd amount of Double Duo. Double Duo got more attention than Double Trio and 80s Crim... So odd.

@@christopherjobin-official7440 Yeah they are bad imo. Aged and aging, grooveless and going nowhere. Luckily KC made all sorts of wonderful stuff up until PTB so I'm not complaining,

@InsaneCarville Жыл бұрын
Yeah, he did that on occasion. Not sure how he feels about vocalising in general but I know he's done it a bit with KC in the THRAK era alongside Tony for a few songs (Heartbeat, Gingeet, People) and on the odd song with other projects I've seeing him in. Provided main vocals on a solo album as well as spoken word on another.
