I’m not sure if the buffs will be enough but it’s good to know DDD finally got it. Only bottom tier in smash 4 that never got a buff besides Puff. Despite the hatred for this character, many of us did not forget your heroic efforts for saving all of us in the Subspace Emissary, DDD mains.

It should be considered that ness has a similar ledge covering move with charging down smash over the ledge, which completely covers it. However, it can only work once, and will let the opponent grab ledge through it until they get back onstage. A similar mechanic may be implemented with gordo, allowing for only one hit when stuck, but sill providing a great edgeguard tool with followups. That's just speculation though

OMG DDD was already fun to play in Wii U version; Now i can tell I’m gonna love him in ultimate. Now that his gordo can stick 100% king DDD will have some pretty nasty edge guarding setups. I also like the fact he can inhale his gordo and other projectiles. This should also give him some pretty good bait setups. I doubt DDD will be high tier, but thanks to all his new buffs and better frame data hopefully he can be at least mid tier.

Looks like once Uthrow Uair is no longer true, Uair will outrange most other aerials. This leaves most character with two options: Jump, or Airdodge. If they airdodge, the lag is punishable with something like a dash attack but also maybe a RAR Bair. If they jump, Dedede can attempt to chase for a juggle or use Gordo (and then maybe inhaled Gordo) to punish there landing.
