The album was somewhat of a disappointment to me when it came out. It sounded too polished, the story didn't hold up and especially the absence of King's trademark falsetto was puzzling. The reason why King used his upper register so much more sparingly on this album may be partly due to experimentation and Livia's increased vocal parts, but likely he had issues with his voice.. just three years after the album, in 2010. he underwent triple-bypass heart surgery. The good thing is, his vocals are strong today.
