Some of her reactions are recommendations by her Patreon supporters (and these are released on Sunday), and she does a poll to see which bands she reacts to that week. I'm the one that recommends the King Diamond stuff, and occasionally it takes an extra week before one wins the poll. Two things are for sure though... 1) We'll make it through the album eventually and... 2) Randi really does a great job with her thoughts on King Diamond! Its always fun watching her experience these!

Yep, Grandma has been bleeding King's and Missy's mother for her spell/tea, and the mom is growing weaker by the day. You are right on the money. Missy wants King to call for help, but he is under Grandma's spell, so he has no desire for help to come. This basically leaves Missy all alone at this point, which is NOT a good place to be in this family, lol. I like your analogy of comparing King's voice to a roller coaster. It is very fitting, and I can recall the first few times I heard him sing... It is very much like a coaster in the dark, where you have no idea where the next sharp turn, or sudden descent is coming from. He is an extremely talented singer, and it still amazes me that he is able to perform these songs just as well today, almost 40 years later. Thanks for listening Randi, and I'm glad you're still enjoying the ride!! I can't wait to see you react to where the story of this album goes by the time it ends! Have a great weekend!

I saw King Diamond in his other band, Mercyful Fate, this past weekend. He's 66 years old. He still sounds EXACTLY like this. All the different voices and everything. I was literally in AWE. He does it effortlessly like he's merely talking and it takes zero effort for him to do.

@@BetterEveryDayKZbin It most certainly was. And a little funny too. He did two costume changes. The first costume he was wearing giant goatlike, Devil horns on his head. He says "How is everyone doing tonight? Is everyone doing well?" And I leaned over to the guy next to me and said "Asks the man wearing Devil horns on his head." 😆

I love that YOU love king Diamond. Therefore I have to say : Please tjek out his first and still excisting band Mercyful Fate. You dont go wrong !! The 2 first albums are ++++++++++ Extra Some weeks ago before a concert with Heilung in Copenhagen (also REALLY REALLY worth to tjek out - stone age, viking music and shamanic music) I went to a LP-shop owned by holy Michael Denner (guitar in MF and KD). Got a good talk with him. He is so positive so I couldnt believe that he got unfriends and now is in no band ! Waste of talent not to be active but WOW he has got an incredible succes and influence since the start of metal !! Timi Hansen RIP

The album "Conspiracy" picks up where "Them" stops. It's one of the absolute greatest horror stories of all time. King Diamond has become my favorite over Ozzy, with the passing of Randy Rhoads. Anyway, love your videos and great reaction to a metal legend.

Can you imagine Stephen King writing to music? Personally I think we have a pretty close idea of what that would be like. Horrow story well told to top notch metal. Chase, a question came to mind during this video, do you know how many takes it took to get the vocals just right on any one song? I ask because Randi pointed out the range from low to high that KD employs. And that's very evident in this song. I'll not speculate, thus look an even gigger fool if I get it wrong. But I have an idea where this tale is going. Mind you, I thought I had the last story sussed, and then had to proceed with scraping egg from my face... LOL Be well beloveds. TTFN.

Hey Graham! Honestly, I am not sure how many different takes King (real name - Kim Bendix Petersen) uses to get his vocals just right on an album. Back in 2010, King underwent triple bypass surgery after multiple heart attacks (over an unspecified amount of time). After the surgery, he cut out smoking and has adopted a much healthier lifestyle overall. All that to say that he says his vocals are much cleaner right out of the gate, so I'd guess the number of takes have dropped considerably. Figure into this, that his live performances are often really good, with him being able to hit the vast majority of his notes dead on. To be fair, his wife (Livia Zita) has helped with backing vocals on tour, and the blending of their voices is so good... You'd probably never know it wasn't just King singing if you didn't see her on stage. She has also helped out on their last 2 studio albums, "The Puppet Master" and "Give Me Your Soul", so I'm sure that helps take some of the stress off of King. I won't spoil the story, but I will just say that after Missy failed in her attempt to get King to call for help... Well, the next song on the album is "Bye, Bye Missy" so I'll leave it with that. Fun fact, their next album "Conspiracy" is a sequel to this album. Glad you're enjoying the songs, and I'm always happy to help when I can so feel free to ask any other questions! I'll try not to ramble on most of them, lol. Take care!!
