Kind Diamond’s “Conspiracy” album is part 2 of “Them” and picks up after he goes back to the old house. Really good record and story. Worth checking out!! Loved your reactions to this!

Another impression I always had was that since the real King is Danish, the story takes place in Denmark. Because of Denmark's latitude it has close to 18 hours of daylight during the longest days of the year, and May in particular has what are called "lysenaetter" or "bright nights" when the weather is mildest (so that King could survive a night alone in the forest after killing Grandma) and when nighttime is really more like a perpetual twilight state, like the painting of the house on the album cover.

I especially liked your reaction to the Them song! I had a feeling it would creep you out a bit, and the music box type music at the end was totally not creepy at all, lol. Granted, this was just setting the scene for the unnerving "Coming Home" that would end the album. Yes, the voices are all still King. They might have some of the other musicians adding some harmony, I'm not sure. However, King is the only credited vocalist for this album, and they just layered his various vocals over one another. Also, King is supposed to be young in the beginning of the album, but I'm not sure how old. I'd say he's a young teen if I were to guess. During "Twilight Symphony," he is locked away in an asylum for several years. He is eventually released from the asylum and returns during the "Coming Home" finale to the album. The story continues in the album "Conspiracy" and gets even creepier, but that's a reaction for another time. The only thing I'll say for now is that "They" and "Them" are possibly demonic entities, but you'll find out more. Thank you so much for the reactions to this album, Randi! Its been a lot of fun watching you get simultaneously creeped out while still really enjoying the music!!

I believe King is supposed to be around 13 in "Them" and Missy is around 8. I always had the idea that he was released from the asylum ("Out From the Aslyum", heh heh) when he got to be an adult, so Pete's solo and "Time has caught up with me" accounts for about 5 to 8 years of time, depending on how old he was upon his release.

YES YES I really am dying for a cup of tea.... One of those stories that would fit the imagination of many a differing mind. At the very last, for egg-sample, that 'lock away' in my mind alone could have been in a haunted attic, a demented brain, as a demon in someone's body, or as you suggested, an institution. A lot of this entire story can be interpreted in a lot a various ways accord to the hearers mindset, and in many ways, what they had exposed themselves to previously in books, movies etc. Just think about how the house is described in the story. We can just about agree on the 18ty century3 story house of aging timber that calls out to all every change from barometric pressure, to the most gentle of breezes. But, what about the setting, in a small country village, a grave yard, ancient London at the time of Jack the ripper, or on a huge country estate owned by royalty? Left very open to every active imagination. Grandma herself? To me, like that super scary old dear from Bill and Ted's bogus journey, in the scene where the lads had to pick their own hell. Then I also saw her as a sweet little old lady, but with very evil intent behind her sinister eyes. The whispering dark spirits that had intention of hiding their true intent, unseen, hardly heard, yet felt tangibly n the vile atmosphere they bring with them. Oh, and what about sweet innocent Missy, like little red riding hood maybe, or how about the smaller of the 2 girls in Mrs. Doubtfire?. The text book stereotypical victim an most horror stories. One thing for sure, I wanted to throw a warm soft blanket about your shoulders when you began to plead not to be scared. I know it's a bit weird, but I look at you as though you were a daughter of mine, and as such feel a strong urge to protect you from the nasty things in life. Once a dad, always a dad I guess. I'm so thankful this album was made in the days when the loony extreme lefties hadn't destroyed society. Other wise this album would have been named "They/them"....LOL Cracking stuff Chase. In the words of Dwalin the dwarf, "very good this. Is there any more?". Really love the vulnerability of you in this reaction, wanting to avoid the sphincter flexing induced by fear. Bless you, your so sweet. TTFN

I love Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (and actually just watched it two weeks ago so that the 9-year-old could see it for the first time)... I have never watched part two though (or part three, for that matter).

Going back to the album, not matter how we see it in our imaginings. it's one with a powerful pulling power that keeps us sticking it out to the very end. Even knowing the end may well be a sticky one. I see from other comments, that another installation could be in the offing!! That's excites this old Papa Bear. Something made me laugh a little while ago. A funny story teller called Jimmy Cricket said in a soft Irish accent, "The other day my Mammy sent me 3 boots. When I asked her why, she said that I'd told her that I've another foot since I got here...."🤣🤣🤣 That's exactly how I twist things in my heard. All on purpose, and aimed at bringing a smile. All sorts of characters from this album/story make an appearance, and I dare say that its probably even a bit spookier than this one. Maybe he never went back to the house at all? Could be hes been locked up so long that hes too far gone and its all in his head. Door shutting sound at the end didnt sound like any door in any house ive been in; hes probably still in the asylum.
