So good. I was always a drummer / guitar player but recently getting into bass more thanks to my long standing love for Maiden. But to see how much more involved these bass tracks were with KD? It's awesome. I always spent some much time on Micky's drums or Andy's riffage that I failed to really listen to the bass. It's no joke. Have to get my finger strength up to speed for sure.

Great job honoring one great bass line. I don't recall seeing it on your channel, but Night of The Unborn would be the ultimate tribute... and quite the challenge. One of the best bass lines in the entire history of music.

Thank you! I haven't done Night of The Unborn yet but it's on my list for sure. Maybe it'll be in the next few videos I do ;) Cheers bud!

Perfect tone, perfect right hand -> awesome job, man! is that Guild a passive bass? :)

Great job! The extra beat in the verses to make it 5/4 is such a great idea. You really don't need to go all super-technical, but experimenting with time signatures is something I wish more bands did. Your cover is also nice because Timi's bass isn't as prominent as on the Mercyful Fate albums, unfortunately.

Thanks, Neil!! I totally agree, I love when bands experiment with odd time signatures, the riff in this song is so simple but effective and leaves lots of room for vocals. I actually recorded a few takes with a tone more accurate to the album but decided to go a bit more overdriven for that reason, it was getting lost in the mix. It's unfortunate because Timis basslines in Abigail are so great but even as someone with an ear for bass, a lot of them passed me by before I actually learned the songs. Cheers dude!
