Aha very nice! I decided to do my own tab too, mine is very similar to yours although I did mine in 3/4 instead of 6/8, along with some other subtle changes. I like what you did at the breakdown (if that's what you want to call it) when it changes to 4/4, I had trouble picking out exactly what the part was from the recording and you did a very good job. I'm going to go back and incorporate some of the things you did into my own tab. Very good work! Keep doing what you do!

Am I really the only who strongly disagrees with the tab during the chorus? To me it sounds like beat 1 lies right when that Amin7 hits. I do realize that it would make the position of the C#dim quite weird, but to me that's part the effect, and frankly, that surprising placement of the chord fits its dissonant sound quite well. That would also mean that the drum fill before the chorus is only half a bar long. But I might just have a bit of a strange ear.

Alexander Kildahl I agree. I actually remember writing it down as a bar of 9/8 (or if you prefer 6/8 + 3/8) but it was just too messy to look at. Also because at the end of the chorus I was going to have to put another bar or 3/8. I decided to keep it simple and stay in 6/8 for the entire song! Good observation though

Weird suggestion, would be helpful if you put the name of the song first in the video title, cos on mobile it doesn't display the whole title so I can't work out which song is which cos they all just say 'King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizar...' haha

I'm pretty sure it is a fretless. If I recall correctly, Cook plays bass on this track. At the time I didn't own a fretless so I had to do it on a fretted bass. Thanks for watching and appreciating anyway!
