It's funny, as someone who can only just play the bass, and who has only learnt one song so far, ('Everything stays' from Adventure Time) I am more inclined to learn this, since Gizzard is actually music I listen to, so even if this song is way above my level of playing, I think it might be the next thing I want to learn... That's great man! Hope it helps. This one might be a tough one if you're just starting with all the time signatures changes, but I've got a bunch of easier ones like Bone or Lord of Lightning. Keep me posted on your journey with the bass!

I'm going to be honest I have like 10/12 picks on my work desk and I usually just pick a random one! I think I used a dunlop 1.0 mm for this one which is usually my go to
