I have Parfums Vintage Beyond Noir (Super Smokey version of Aventus). I layer it with Club de Nuit Intense by Armaf. It's a smokey sweet mix that I really like. The smokey versions were supposedly the original smell of Creed's Aventus. I have had several samples and small decants of Aventus and it is absolutely amazing. I completely understand what you were saying about finding the next fragrance to "blow your mind". There have been dozens of times I was blown away by a fragrance. Of course after smelling something that resets the bar it is hard to top it. Aventus reset the bar as did Tom Fords Oud Wood, Roja Creation E, Parfums de Marly Herod and Amouage Interlude man for me. Well nice video sir. Keep them coming.

Just a shot in the dark here, but could it be that Parfums (VI)ntage King Intense is a play on words and inspired by the recent release of Creed Vi(KING?) PVI is described as Woody/Fruity where Creed Viking is Wood/Citrus and Viking is created on the success of Aventus' profile.

Great video mate, but my original 2016 Aventus doesn’t last long on my skin at all which I am gutted about so I only use it on chosen occasions. I have thought about trying King intense but I’ve got Rainier’s Crystal Rain which is almost identical to the fruity 2016 batch we own. If you’ve not tried it give it a try, or even that house.

May 28, 2019, I ordered 4 different bottles as blind buy base on review and received a corfirmation order. After 10 days of waiting I received an email saying I had to buy samples first (which is expensive) before they can dispatch my orders. I have never experienced this kind of "weird policy" before from any other fragrance store.They say it is in their terms and condition before checkout which I could not find in their almost bare and plain website. I asked them to send a screenshot of this "sampling policy" but they never did. Parfums Vintage should make this clear for the customers to avoid wasting peoples time.

Great review as always Chris, I had a 2015 Aventus which I absolutely loved and when my bottle finally died last year I bought a replacement and I was so disappointed as performance was dismal, like you I like the balanced version but also look for excellent performance so King Intense could be a great replacement for me.

Hi Chris, thanks for the review once again. I’ve just been over to their website and found that I’ll need £100 for 100ml inc postage with a ten day turnaround. Then when it arrives I’m going to have to pony up a further £28 in customs charges. Hmmm. £128 for a clone? Reckon I’ll stick with Perfume Parlour where you sent me earlier in the year. Same scent without spending the rent. Cheers from a fellow Lanc. Keep on sniffing!

Really love this fragrance. Personally I get better performance from Pineapple Vintage Intense but I chose to buy both for slightly different occasions. The new Vanilla Intense sounds like an interesting flanker as well.

I can tell the difference only through the texture on my skin. I also own a 2016 Aventus and King intense. I think King intense performance slightly better with projection but Aventus beats it in Longevity it almost feels like it’s wax on my neck. (Maybe the ambergris in Aventus) my Favorite is Vanilla intense. Great video btw!!

I enjoy king intense as well. I feel it's balance will be perfect for the cooler weather. They have 2 new releases out now - actually getting mine tomorrow - King is supposed to be a brighter King Intense and Vanilla intense which is pretty much self described. Both are getting positive reviews. I'm sure you'll be getting yours soon. Vanilla intense is supposed to be incredible and king is supposed to be the most refined product from PV yet

Good video man. Good house for sure. I like most of their colognes. The only issue i have is it takes up to 2 wks to get your order. But worth the wait because they are cheap priced and some are better than the originals.

Have you tried Frapin-The Orchid Man? Take Aventus without the Pineapple and that's Orchid Man for you. it still has some sweetness to it with the bergamot though. Definitely worth a try. Aventus is 435$. Orchid Man 195$.

A safe bet as the fruity note is smooth and well balanced. Not overpowering like some of the fruity batches of Aventus are.

Thank you. Both very good. In the opening 13zz is a touch smokier whereas KI has brighter fruit accords. They become very similar in the dry down but KI seems to have a bit more depth to it.

Great review bro, I definitely agree with your take, King intense is good but I do like vanilla intense allot better, great for the fall. Parfums vintage has some great ones lately. I honestly don't care for the older batches of aventus as well, it's just wayyyy to thick and the smoke honestly made me gauge and I literally had to scrub it lol but I have a 2016 batch and love it. This was such a great on depth review. Like the side by side of 3 fragrance vs king intense. I own pineapple vintage intense and agree is more of a original creation more than a clone. I've heard king intense is the best in terms of balance but they do have 2 more releases that just dropped: Vanilla Intense & King...Built in content for at least 2 more reviews haha.

Just received my 50ml bottle, the opening is of sweaty gym gear, it has very poor projection, was told by parfums vintage I could put it in the fridge for 7 days, sorry that's where I put my milk not my fragrance. Can only put it down to a bad batch. All my other parfums vintage are excellent, it's only this one that I have the problem with

Only the ones that watch these reviews which compared to the masses is like no one lol. 99% of guys just walk into the mall and buy what's on the counter it's a very very small percentage of guys that buy aventus or even no about it in real life. I'm 40 yrs old and I have never met anyone wearing aventus or anyone that even nos about it or even nos what a niche fragrance is.

QuickMix Tell yourself whatever you need to justify paying hundreds of dollars for Aventus. CDNIM smells amazing, and absolutely nothing like floor cleaner. I have indeed tested Aventus. I was blown away by how similar it smelled to CDNIM!!

You disrespect Aventus by saying 'forget about it', but CDNIM wouldn't exist without Aventus, show some respect to a groundbreaking fragrance. I am an amateur perfumer and know the differences like night and day, and I know quality when I smell it. And it's not subtle, there are enormous differences to my nose. And to people like me price doesn't matter that much, it's a weak argument. I'd even say Aventus is a better value based on quality.

QuickMix So they replaced one aroma-chemical for another in CDNIM. Big whoop! After the scent dies down they smell exactly the same. I’m just an average guy, and I think most men are like me: not concerned at all with the minutiae of a fragrance and are unwilling to spend 100s to smell great. If there’s a difference in the dry down of Aventus vs. CDNIM, it’s immensely subtle, and virtually undetectable if smelled in the air. You’re right, though, Aventus should be respected as the “original.” However, it shouldn’t be worshipped and revered and put on a pedestal as the “king.” That’s dumb (not saying you did this). I respect Creed for introducing this scent, but I’m glad other companies are making it affordable to the general public, without sacrificing much of what made the original so great. Sure, if your sniffing the crap out of some test strips or your wrists, trying to compare the two fragrances side by side, your probably gonna notice differences in the beginning. But, even then, the overall impression (when smelling them uncritically) will be the same. That’s why I say "FUGGITABOUTIT!" 😜

You should know the average perfume has 60+ aroma chemicals, not including the hundreds essential oils contain, and you think Aventus is one aroma chemical different?
