When anyone says the last line in King Kong was "It was beauty killed the beast" I say no, the police lieutenant has the last line, a barely audible cross between an "oh" and "ah." Although you can see the cop's mouth open in the French version, nothing is heard here. Sorta like the last line of Huston's Maltese Falcon not being "The stuff that dreams are made of," but Detective Polhaus's "Huh?" which is more clearly heard and at least shows up in IMDB's Quotes as such.

Those are really close to the look of the US titles but not a bit different. Would these have been made in France?

I honestly don't know. Of course the studios produced their own "foreign" versions before dubbing, including foreign titles. And those were all done in Hollywood. My guess would be Hollywood since the design is so close.
