I’m making your scallops. I am scoring them and then dunking them into a non-seafood seafood broth. Kombu seaweed, shiitake mushrooms the tops to my king oyster mushrooms, rice seasoning liquid amino. I’m making butter, garlic, white wine, pasta, slicing, and frying some garlic to put on top of my spinach. I love your recipe. This is one of the coolest ones yet!

So I made these the other night and WOW! When he said they have the same texture as scallops, I thought okay sure. Let me tell you!!! If someone put these in front of me and didn't tell me they were mushrooms, I would have never guessed. I am BLOWN AWAY. I modified this recipe and made more of a scampi and it was delish. Very grateful for this channel and being able to have the scallop experience and option back in my life. Ty, ty

do you ever make a plant based pizza with a white sauce? I sauteed my scallions, meatless beef tips, roasted red peppers and olives in olive oil then added a tablespoon of rice flour, cooked this for a minute then added almond milk, garlic powder, pepper and cooked until thickened. Topped all this on a naan bread with my favorite chopped greens and vegan cheese - yum

I tried the shredded barbecue king oysters and they were amazing. This is next on my list. I hadn’t shopped in Tesco for a long time since my local one is a car drive to get to (I walk a lot) and was really impressed by the variety on offer.

Love the recipes!! (although some of these mushrooms are tricky to find in some US grocery stores).. But do you take down videos after a while? I made the vegan "chicken" noodle soup a couple weeks ago and when I went back to find the video to make it again, it was gone. (I was able to remember it at least)

I can't find those big clusters of mushrooms here that you use for steak but the oyster mushrooms I can get 🙂 whoo hoo! Looks super easy!

Derek, I have two questions: 1. What does placing the mushrooms in the 400 degree oven do? 2. What can I do to prevent the exterior of the Trumpet mushrooms from having a rubbery, kind of leathery texture / mouth feel?

1. Ensures they're cooked through the centre. 2. If they're rubbery, they are overcooked.

Ok looky here I've been following you and Chad for a month or so, I'm like searching amzn.to see if I can purchase any products..which has made me WICKED N VERY HUNGRY here in USA, EAST TEXAS TYLER...Where can you get the products in your videos n cookbook...I'mma newbie to plant base LIFESTYLE..but, keep us all hungry n ready to cook plant base meals that look always delicious. Hi Diedre, we are currently working on getting the Wicked products sold online and in other countries, but don't let that stop you from cooking the recipes you see in the cookbook or in these videos! @@DerekSarnoChef I'm patiently awaiting plus, I hope you put the products in Sprouts stores or Aldi's since, our city(Tyler) doesn't have a Trader's Joe's but do have above mention stores and a Natural Grocer store. East Texas is a slow crawl with plant base LIFESTYLE since, we have tons of cattle in which East Texas is known for this far in the world. Thanks for your reply and I'm still growing in my new found journey of LIFESTYLE living..

So I have high expectations Wicked Kitchen to help me convert, but other takes on "scallops" have included a pre-soak or nori infusion or use of old bay seasoning, and I fear margarine and opt for Myoko butter instead. I don't mean to be picky but this channel is bad-ass and that was lacking.
