Used to attend this mans classes in JHB CBD and now traveling and still using his workouts. As soon as the interviewer turned to him I just hoped he doesn't switch to English knowing how eloquently he speaks ulimi lamaNguni lesiZULU. Absolutely beautiful and I wish the whole of south Africa speaks their own tongue as authentically as he does on TV or wherever. The glorification of English in our own land is outdated, un-African, Un-Ubuntu and brings us nothing except disrespect by others for changing who we are for petty Jobs etc. I am grateful and inspired to see this.
@Welcometothenow7 ай бұрын
Can you explain why Africans are changing to English when they’re in their own land? I’m American, and do not understand that.
@kwaziduma15307 ай бұрын
@@Welcometothenow whites own the economy, they speak English. There is a longer explanation but this is the core of the matter.
@gennetriley7857 ай бұрын
You should of wrote this in your native tongue😊
@Politeliberty7 ай бұрын
@@Welcometothenow From what I understand. I believe it's because one of the effects of being colonised by the English was the decentralization of who we are. Language being part of that. Everything about us relegated as "Native" classifying it to being beneath what's considered appropriate for one to be respected and elevated through the ranks of society. So it then became normal for people to try and speak English in spaces that seemed corporate or professional. But as you can see that mindset is gradually changing and we as a people we are centralising who we are to be the norm in all spaces.
