Yes I remember seeing that bass in an exhibition years ago. I could be wrong but I think it lives in Barry Devlin's gaff these days, according to my Dad who visited there.

What's funny about this is that while the rest are in 70s Glam, Charles O'Connor with that hair and that jacket looks like he's time travelled back from the present day :)

Be sure to check out the six-part series of “Fir Bolg” on TG4. It’s kind of an Irish Spinal Tap maybe very, very loosely inspired by Horslips. Or “The Horslips” as the grown-ups used to say (also “The Bothies”).

1:26 That old grain tower thing was quite a prominent feature of Dublin's Skyline back in the day as I've seen in other old photographs. But I can tell it wasn't missed, because I can't find much information on it or when exactly it was demolished.

The old grain tower had me stumped. So it is gone now. The background is spectacular.

Man, that's damn fine music!👍♥️ What do you think about Dexy's Midnight Runners, CR? They had a better collection of music than MTV ever played. At least over here in the states.

Did their rooftop concert predate that of the Beatles? This was so revolutionary at the time. For many of us “youths” Horslips’ rock and roll drew us in then their jigs, reels and hornpipes hooked us - a gateway drug to trad music. Great version of the King of the Fairies with tricky time signature and key changes.

It's such a shame Horslips weren't as big as Rory and Thin Lizzy back in the day.
