You probably have the best boat reviews on the internet! Would love to see more videos of offshore fishing boats like this and see how they compare to their competition of the same size range. I wonder how this rides compared to boats like the Valhalla 33 and Grady White 336.

Also keen to know this. I own the express Grady of same hull and have driven the 336 centre console but not the Reg nor Valhalla.

Open bow no likey offshore. Great calm water fishing boat for running 100miles offshore on a warm summer's day

I think you just need to consider the wave period. SUre if you have wind against current in shallow water then reconsider your need to go that day or you're getting wet. But in plenty of locations this is going to be awesome for those 50-100 NM runs which is definately still offshore.

what an intro! regulator on my list 📓

I love the build quality and ride...but sometimes too much weight hinders fuel economy and I find that this deep 24 degree V can be somewhat cumbersome in certain seas. There are always compromises but comparing this to a the modified non-step bottom Grady 336.... I prefer the Grady. Gets up and planes easier with better fuel economy. Less roll when drifting and feels much larger in the cockpit. Head sea the Regulator wins. Build quality its hard to beat a Regulator. I owned one for years. Beautiful boat and love the reviews. Keep them coming.

Great comment! I actually linked to the Grady after this video. You can see the 24 degrees causing the hull to lean over a little when i'm doing the sideways push on the joystick.. it's much more noticable. And agree you can't beat this in a head sea. Hopefully anyone who is trying to decide between Grady vs Regulator reads your feedback. Cheers

A lot of the news reg 34 have the seakeeper option nowdays and it fix the 24degre dead rise when bottom fishing or drifting. I am not sure that the fuel economy is better in the Grady white ?🤔 the reg 34 can also be power with twin xto and it will get better mpg than triple 300 . Both are very nice boat 👌🏼

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLifeif it was your decision which one would you choose for yourself and why ? Nice video 😎congrats on your channel… Now we want the review of the reg 37 💥

That's a calm water boat, put it in rough water, force 7 or 8 ,you will soon be taking it back to harbour

Seriously great boat and a nice review. I personally would opt for twin 450s to keep weight and water drag down, but otherwise it's such a great configuration and boat.

No weight saving opting for 2 x 450hp Yam's
@tag_763 ай бұрын
@@michaell8532 I think you're right but there is definitely less drag with only 2 lowers in the water.

Triple is better than twins for offshore… if you have an issue with one engines you can still put the boat on plane with two.. twin is better for shallow water because there is no long engine in the middle and twin have better fuel Efficiency as well.

Great review thanks, love to see you on a Scout btw, say the new 357? Re your question, I'd go twin 450's, they're great engines and it's cheaper to maintain 2 than 3, better mpg too 👍🤙

I don't have any mates at Scout yet but I am coming to FLIBS so i'll introduce myself. I have driven a few of their models over the years. Yep fair point on the twin rig. I enjoy the look of the triple but i also didn't pay the fuel bill on the day haha!

I wonder what people mean by "off-shore" nowadays, I mean it doesnt matter if youre in the middle of the Pacific ocean if the weather is dead calm like that. Any boat will thrive there, even a little inflatable dinghy. Would you call it off-shore weapon? I wouldnt. Any open day boat like that I wouldnt classify as off-shore. Put it in 8 feet choppy swells in 30 knot winds and we'll see how much of a weapon it is. An off-shore weapon at this size is something like a Targa 32 or 35

Good point, it really depends on the audience and boat type. Offshore sailing yachts idea of offshore is midway between Australia and NZ where as the guys heading out to the FADS fishing for the day are also absolutely offshore as well but might only be 20-60 NM. Yes for high speed runs out to the fishing grounds I absolutely would call it an offshore weapon and would be happy to go out in all sorts. Naturally i would use my brain and always consider the conditions. If it's 8ft and short wave period I might consider my direction of travel and speed due to the open bow. 30kts wind is not all that strong in Southern Hemisphere terms so depending on the wave period i'd be happy to run this boat to plenty of far away places across open water.
@rykehuss34353 ай бұрын
@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Good counter points. Personally if its 8 ft no matter the wave period I wouldnt go out in anything less than a cruise liner.. Just not the least bit of fun anymore at that point
