Absolute garbage. There's no reason to breed these animals they way they do, as with any animal, just for our amusement. They have souls and lives just like any animal in the shelter or on our streets. Shame on all these people and the folks who participate in it. Health issues are extremely common and it's so sad to know all these lost souls are only on this earth for our pleasure and have to endure this. Stop paying for full breeds when there are so many animals on this planet that need a home. No matter what they look like or needs they need met. They all require affection and freedom and the more we condone this behavior, the longer we humans will take to realize that the scrawny, ugly dog down the road can be just as beautiful as any of these poor beasts.

Those are not pure Tibetan Mastiff! Mastiff don't drool. Mastiff are larger. Mastiff don't bark at people during the day. At night when they are outdoors you can't stop them from barking. Ancient China called them Chained Dogs. Because they were chained during the day and released during the night, in which they would bark constantly. The only way you can control their barking was to keep them indoors at night. I have had several since the 1950s. My first one was in Finland and then in India (that was a Giant, My dad change his name to Behemoth when he became fully grown).

shahrukh mohammad My parents were stationed at the United States Embassy in India in the 50s. We took a tour up the Himalayan Mountains and came upon a Monastery. I was very difficult with my parents so they agreed to allow to Monk to train me. That Monastery became my school. I was a very bright student and they gave me My Spiritual Guide which was a 11 weeks old Tibetan Mastiff puppy. I had to train him and teach him (so I thought as I was led to believe). Tibetan Mastiffs have a NATURAL Guardian instincts So I had very little training to do. When my parents Embassy duty was up after 3 years, they went to South Korea I remained in India for another 2 years. Then I went with my Mastiff in tow to meet up with my dad who was stationed in Finland. There I was given a Caucasian Ovcharka! My Mastiff and Ovcharka at first didn't get along. But one afternoon I was being bullied and they both teamed up and came to my rescue. They realized they had a common duty and got along very well after that. When I returned to Fort Wainwright in Alaska my Malamutes and Huskys were big. Some how all of my dog managed to get along. Huskys are NOT watch dogs so for that deficit the Mastiff and ovcharka with mom's German Shepherds protected our house off base. In Junior High School Mom was Stationed at Fort Hamilton in NYC. She bought a small farm on undeveloped Staten Island. Dad was later stationed at the Air Force base in Jersey next to Fort Dix. He demolished the wooden farmhouse on Staten Island and built a deep Air Raid Shelter (now called a bomb shelter) then he built a concrete house on top of the bomb shelter. When my parents died. My older brothers and sisters were married with children and had their own property. So I ended up with everything in NYC, Alaska, Remote Canada, Africa, Europe and India. I got married while in the Navy and stayed for 34 years. I was at sea on land and special details etc. But I always had large breed dogs! My children have large breed dogs too.

Every breed of dog can drool. &As you're correct with your history, that was a behavioral trait due to the conditions those dogs commonly had. They are very relaxed and rarely have the need to bark but they still will.
