King's Lynn Heritage Open Day 2023 featuring vintage buses and classic cars

Another visit to King's Lynn is featured in this film for the annual Heritage Open Day. Vintage buses were once again in action taking passengers to and from the attractions and buildings.
There was so much to do with live music and demonstrations, boat trips, guided tours, re-enactments and of course a chance to see many historic buildings not normally open to the public. There really was so much to do and with the nice sunshine a good turnout was ensured. In fact it was too hot 31 degrees. So 3 open top buses were in operation.
The film starts with the cars arriving for the classic car show before I took a trip on the Norwich sightseeing Olympian to South Quay where some boats including the Baden Powell can be seen. As the buses continued to pass Nelson's Shantymen performed at King's Staithe. I visted Hampton Court, The County Gaol and Whatahoot Distillery in between seeing some live music from the Daisy Chains who performed some Rock N Roll and 60's classics for us. There is a brief look at The Kentwell Players playing the hurdy-gurdy before I headed back to the bus station to see The Peelings Volvo coach and Towlers Bedford Coach depart.

I've never been into King's Lynn; I mostly turn left down to Saddlebow Estate to watch different old cars! Looks good though, and it seems that folk were enjoying it all.

The town really comes alive and the heritage day is a super day out and there is so much maritime history. I wouldn't mind seeing the speedway myself if I get the chance one evening.

You should! there is so much history and the heritage day is held annually with 13 buses and coaches this year.

I counted about 14 different buses on the day, does anyone know exactly how many buses attended please?

I think there were 13 vintage buses and coaches in service which I have listed in the description. In previous years I have seen Lynx Bus having a bus in service but I didn't see one this year. For the last 2 years I think there have been 8 vintage buses so have 13 is brilliant and I am sure the open top buses were especially welcome.
