Says a lot about King right now that no throws make the top ten. King is a pretty strong brawler. You can effectively play a lot of sets without trying to force throws. He still needs his throws, but he's about as complete at brawling as a grappler can justify. Plus it's not like he's just these 10 moves. He has a lot of other things that are effective to use in certain scenarios. d1,2 high crush interrupt, uf3 as an oki round ender, b4 into mixups when their back is to the wall, ub1 as a medium range, decent tracking anti-approach tool, armored shoulder charge at certain angles/ranges. Lots of other stuff.

As a king a player I've always maintained that king without chain grabs is still top tier and without some of his grabs he's still great.

cool though. but he wont be king without the throws. i actually would prefer and still look for how king could be played as almost a throw-only character- like a 70-30 ratio. completely feared for his throws. marduk and his tackles seem to effuse such fear factor.

Making a top 10 for King is hard because he has so many good moves. My list was pretty much the same but I forgot about f4 and instead chose d3 since I like it to beat ss into stand guard and its nice having a +1 on hit low that's -12 on block, ffn2 can feel risky in some matchups.

Its also a forward forward neutral motion. So its very unsafe to do. Marduk is another story. His is just 1+2.

I am just starting up tekken again, but I would love to get answer to some questions. I got a ps5 controller and I need to know: 1: Should I use the D-pad or should I use the Stick when playing king. Stick is much easier for "Mega Swing", but D-Pad is bette for other things like runing. So witch one is recommended to use when playing King. 2: How should you map up / Keybind the extra buttons when playing King to make him easier to play and to chain combos. Thank you for answers.

As in how do you do the half circle motion on a gamepad? If I'm on the left side (P1) for example, the most consistent way I've found is to push my thumb on the righthand side of the left button, then drag my thumb straight down to the bottom of the down button and then straight over to the righthand side of the right button. Dragging straight down ensures that I get b,d/b,d. Usually if a HCF (b,d/b,d,d/f,f) has failed, it's because either the d/b or the d hasn't registered. For some reason, it'll work if the d/f is skipped or doesn't register.
