I need to replace one section of LEDs. Are they connected to the cover? Do you just pull the cover off and disconnect it? And just connect the new and snap it back in?

Oops... My apologies, I missed this! In case you are still waiting on an answer (and for anyone else with the same question)... If you need to replace just one of the LED strips, you just need to remove the LED cover, unscrew the LED strip and disconnect it. You do not need to remove the main side cover at all.

Hi! I would like the build my KS 14D into a KS14S. As far as I see I will need the bigger batteries ofcourse and a 14S shell and I think I'm good. I hope I don't need a 14S mainboard.

That is correct - new side covers (and upper pads) and new batteries. The control board is the same for both models, so provided your model shows up as KS-14SMD you should be good to go. However, you may want to work with your supplier to update the control board serial number (so the correct range is reflected in the app).
