There is this current wave of financial advice that is directed at black people that is presented in a way of fearmongering, money-talks should be empowering and exciting for us especially given our economically oppressive history. This episode achieved that, the language was simple and straightforward, misconceptions about our spending habits were dismantled and I could actually look forward to handling money better & realigning my mindset! I can definitely attest to saving without a goal being the problem. The past 10years of my working life I've been saving monthly and every 2-3yrs withdraw because I had no goal why I saved. My money was bored, bored money is gone money. Until 2020 where I calculated and set goals for my money. Im now motivated to save and invest. Even then i still got it wrong because I started investing without rainy day savings but we are slowly getting there. Your chanel is motivating, your effort in bringing such special speakers who understand us and circumstances is highly appreciated. Thank you.

I know all too well of this aimless saving trap myself .It is actually laziness (the lack of planning for what is essentially capital).This sense of false safety derived from a bank balance -I get so mad and sad looking back- .In any case, the hope is that we not only learn but grow from it. My take away: take the simple step!

Yea he is correct on this part on investing in forex investment capital and share have asymmetic information problem which is a conundrum but it can be solved by investing in this u fully understand don't be indolent try to learn as much as possible and be patient u will eventually get the reward at the end

Saving in one's fiat currency for a long term goal with intermediaries is worthless because inflation will eventually devalue that currency, rather in the long run save on things tht will compound ur currency to equate the devaluation of currency manipulation. For example save ur present value cash in the Financial market which are made up of bond, commodities, and derivatives so u just choose what u feel comfortable with and know the tolerance for ur risk
